Book pages The First Hippo on the Moon
The First Hippo on the Moon
I read it to Squirt aged 5
Fun illustrations and my daughter enjoyed the story, but I was a little disappointed by the ending, I'm unsure as to why they needed to make the hippo wake up by having a giant fart, there seemed no reason behind it other than 'kids think farts are funny' and it seemed rather out of place in the book. Of course kids are going to enjoy a bit of toilet humour, but I don't think this book needed it as it was already an good story.

Book pages Window
Window
I read it to Squirt aged 5
This was a really interesting book, with no words we spent a long time talking about the pictures. The book starts with a window view of wild countryside, and as the child grows we see changes through the window. My daughter loved this 'big spot the difference' game and it led to some interesting conversation about cities and what humans do to the world.

Book pages The Brave Beast
The Brave Beast
I read it to Squirt aged 5 & to Squidge aged 2
From the cover we thought this might be a slightly scary story with the beast as the scary one, but he's the hero! He overcomes his fears of the strange noise and rushes to the rescue. We enjoyed the story, especially making the howly noises!

Book pages Digger to the Rescue
Digger to the Rescue
I read it to Squidge aged 2
This was a wonderfully bright and colourful book showing a diggers day with some excitement thrown in when Cat needs rescuing from a tree. Brilliant books for any preschooler, especially those who love big machines.
