Yeti lives alone in a wintery landscape. Well, maybe not quite alone, but no one is brave enough to go near big, scary Yeti. No one apart from Bird, who gets lost on her way south, makes a special friend, and opens up a whole new world for our Yeti...

A funny, brilliantly original book from Nadia Shireen - winner of the UKLA Book Award, shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and mentioned in the Opera Prima category of the international Bologna Ragazzi Prize.

We really loved this book. The pictures are gorgeous and the story is poignant but simple. Yeti has no friends because he looks scary but little bird arrives on the scene and shows everybody that Yeti is fun and loveable. I think this would be a really sweet book to read in class because it's about ensuring that everyone is included and that friends can leave and you can be ok. Definitely recommended.

A nice book showing that even someone who is big and scary looking can feel lonely and sad, and need a friend. Everyone is scared of yeti and he is quite lonely, until Bird comes along. We liked the illustrations, especially the yeti.

We really like this book because of the outcome. The illustrations are a great addition to the story. Poor yeti has no friends because the animals think he looks a bit scary but one day little bird lands and he isn't scared and they become friends and other animals see this and react. A lovely book about friendship and it's ok if you look different.
