Step outside, open this book and embrace the nature all around you throughout the day. A fantastic activity book to inspire half term holidays and outdoor activities as well as indoor fun for rainy days.

In the morning, design your very own nature trail, seek and find caterpillars or cut out pages to make a beautiful snail shell. In the afternoon, why not make some decorative bunting for a garden party? And then find your way through the bumblebee maze or colour in a butterfly's wings. At night time, spot constellations dancing across the sky. In this beautiful interactive book illustrated by the wonderful and talented Debbie Powell, you can explore nature throughout the day - uncovering birds, bugs, plants, animals and so much more.

Published in partnership with the RSPB, the largest wildlife conservation charity in Europe with over 1.2 million members and partner of Bird Life International, this book provides fun for the whole family.

Beautifully illustrated book! Much more pages than I imagined and love the thick paper and lovely colours. This book has lots of activities for kids to do indoors inspired by the outdoors. There are also outdoor activities, for example, picking up some leaves, star gazing and with a handful of ideas to write and draw stories about, like a nature walk or picnic. It's a nice book to reflect and contemplate nature itself or even this beautiful representation of nature if it's not so pleasant to go outside. The main types of activities are related to colouring in pages, spotting animals and flowers and differences, cut out objects, like masks, box or basket. Most of the activities except the writing ones are quite simple for a 5 year old. Also the focus is not so much about teaching lots about nature, but instead just enjoying it. My 5-year old son loved the book and enjoyed spending hours on it: colouring birds and bluebells, connecting dots, spotting differences, cutting out circles to make a snail. And I'm happy we still have lots of fun activities to explore.

What an utterly fabulous book for youngsters, it's interactive, you can even cut bits out!

It's amazingly good fun to follow, to read, the illustrations are simple and don't demand a child to be an excellent reader, the colours are just right for the subject matter.

I love that it's a hardback and is a good book to hold, it can be taken outside in the day or night, we had fun outside at night with a torch following instructions.

A treat of a read, what a gift for any child this book is.  Love it!

This book is nice because it tells you lots of stuff you can do in nature and it gives you stuff to do indoors as well. The illustrations were nice. I liked that on the pages where you had to cut something out there was just a pattern on the other side so you didn't spoil another activity.

This is a big thick book full of activities and ideas for a nature enthusiast! Beautifully drawn with loads of colouring, drawing, cutting out (bunting, nature dice, nature baskets) and writing activities that will keep children (I reckon perfect for 5+) occupied for hours on end.

This is a truly beautiful book.  The illustrations on every page are stunning.   The book is designed on thick paper in a multitude of colours.
I love the way the book gets you thinking about nature.  There are lots of activities to do in this book from cutting out and hanging bunting to making fingerprint bugs and going on a nature walk.  The book talks you through nature during the day & at night-time.  It teaches you about the different parts of a leaf and lots of other snippets of interesting facts.
This is the sort of book that can be picked up again and again as there is so much to do in it.   A definite book for a rainy day but equally so for a sunny one too!
My children and I are thoroughly enjoying this book.  We would recommend to anyone who likes nature and art.

We're grateful to have received this brilliant book this morning. It is a lot bigger than I expected it to be. My daughter is a little bit young for some of the directed activities but that being said it is still packed with ideas for us to extend our fun outside in nature. It would be perfect to take on a camping, walking, nature holiday and would allow you to discover lots of lovely things and keep them as wonderful memories from the holiday. I love that it covers morning, afternoon and night time activities. It covers a wide range of learning that would keep children and adults busy for hours with so much to learn and discover together. My daughter is showing a keen interest in birds in our garden and eggs at the moment so the beautiful eggs and bird spotting pages are perfect for her. There's so much to dip in and out of and we will be using this for years to come. It would be great to see how her discoveries change as she gets older.
I love the idea of the night time visitors activity. The activities offer so many opportunities for lots of conversation and open to extend and link with stories.

This is a superb book to get young children interested in nature. It is an RSPB book published by Bloomsbury. However, the book caters more for younger children in the 5-9 age group. In my opinion, including names of atleast some of the butterfly and bird species and putting in more details would make the book slightly more comprehensive and added a lot of depth to the book.  The illustrations are good.

Sophie turns 4 years soon, and this is ideal for her, but perfect age for any year at primary school. Sophie loves nature. I initially thought this book would have ideas on mature activities. But this is o much more. It has colouring pages, cut out pages, games, places to write what the child has found and seen. It's a scrap book and ideas book all in one. We especially loved the floating Lilly pads for the bath to cut out. This will last for such a long time. Especially brilliant for all the upcoming holidays.
