Enter the magical world of Oliver Moon, Junior Wizard, in these fun illustrated adventures full of gruesome details and extraordinary characters. Oliver is really looking forward to his summer holiday in the haunted forest. He can't wait to go ghost hunting and he'd love to meet the werewolves that are rumoured to live there. But his parents are not happy about the noisy howling that goes on in the forest at night. Could Oliver's hairy new friend, Wilf, have anything to do with it?

We have all of the series of the Oliver Moon books and my son loves them.  We first read them when he was 5 and this was a great introduction into 'Chapter books' from picture books.
This particular book comes on holiday with us every year to be read, it's become a tradition!
The series is about a wizard boy and his family and the funny things he gets up to.  There are lovely illustrations and it is not too long, which make this a good read for children themselves, or lends itself well to a bedtime story.
Although this book has werewolves in it, it was not perceived as scary by my (at the time) 5 year old.

Oliver Moon's Summer Howliday was my absolute favourite book when i read it at 5 years old, i found it very funny! I think this book is perfect for younger readers looking to make the transition from picture books to chapter books or for older children who want a quick (easy) read. I read Oliver Moon's Summer Howliday again yesterday, i'm 8 now and still enjoyed the story, it still made me laugh and i found it very enjoyable.

This books is part of a larger set, you can read the book as a stand alone adventure or as part of an ongoing story- learning all about Oliver, his family and friends.
