A feel-good, rhyming picture book, packed full of outrageously funny otters from multi-award-winning author, Jeanne Willis, with hilarious illustrations by Leonie Lord.
When little Lottie Potter goes to Trotter's Otter shop to buy a new pet, she certainly doesn't expect to find quite so many kinds. There are spotty otters, potty otters, snotty otters and tangled-in-a-knotty otters - to name but a few! But what will she do when the otter she chooses turns out to be a rotter?
A side-splittingly funny, fast-paced rhyming romp that's a joy to read out loud - again and again!

I adore this book! Lottie Potter is desperate for a pet, but her idea to adopt on of Mr Trotter's fancy otters doesn't quite go to plan.   It gets children laughing, it's full of great turns of phrase, and the illustrations have lots of details to spot. This book reads like a classic tongue twister or nonsense poem, so I recommend practicing before you have to read it aloud to a larger audience. I didn't do this when a child brought the story in for circle time and ended up tripping over the fast paced rhymes and alliteration!

My daughter brought this book from the local library and started to read it. She loved the rhymes and the story plot.
The illustrations are detailed and dotted letters at the front cover caught the attention. I think it's a nice read for kids.

A funny story with lots of rhyme which makes it a little tricky to read but lots of fun. My daughter enjoyed seeing all the silly otters in the pictures and thought it was quite a funny story.

I listened to the school librarian read this to Year 1 today and am definitely getting my daughter a copy. It is such a fun book, they were laughing throughout. The rhyming story and almost tongue twister aspect made it fun to listen to. The pictures gave the children a chance to talk about which otter they would choose.

This is such a fun tale about a little girl's quest to find her perfect pet, with a few twists and turns.
Lovely, and different rhyming text full of fun and humour. At times a bit of a tongue twister to read but this makes it even funnier it seems.
The illustrations are fun and detailed and gave room to talk about the story more.
It's quite simply a very fun story to read.

What a lot of words rhyme with otter! This was a lovely story to read with lots to look at on each page. It took us a long time to decide which otter we would like! My son loved the twist at the end.
