Deep in the ocean lives a fish whose wishes come true! He wishes for all sorts of crazy things - a castle, a car, and even fine clothes to wear. But he is a rather foolish fish and one day he wishes to be just like all the other fish . . . perhaps this will be the one wish he wishes he never wished!

The rhythmical text is great to read aloud and Korky Paul's illustrations take to you to a crazy underwater world. With its neat punch line, this is a book that children will just love to hear (and join in with) over and over again.

The fish who could wish is a brilliant book - the pages are packed with beautiful, bright pictures and rhyming text- which the kids soon learn and repeat as we read the story together :) Really enjoy reading this book out aloud
I think the message is you should be careful what you wish for and definitely think before you speak :)
A fantastic book which we have enjoyed for years - 5 stars :)

We really enjoyed this book and the bright large images within it that fill the whole page. There are so many little details in the images we are still finding new things to discover and talk about throughout the book even after reading it several times. The story is a little sad but it made for a good talking point with my son afterwards.

Both my boys (2&6) love this book, they love all the wishes that the fish wishes for though they are sad that he cannot make any more in the end. The illustrations are brilliant and really add to the enjoyment of the book. This is such a regular in our house that my old st can recite most of it back

Wildly imaginative, in both plot and picture, this book has a runaway rhythm as it tells the tale of a fish who can make anything happen just by wishing for it.  Young minds will delight in the things that the fish desires, and the poem races along at a fast pace.  A fantastic fun read, with a great moral ending, 'be careful what  you wish for...'!

The story is about a fish that really wants to be like all of the other fish. We enjoyed it because he wished for loads of things and it was a good class discussion. He even made it snow in the middle of the ocean!

I think this is a very sad story because the fish who could wish is not wise and very silly. The story rhymes and I like that, it makes it funny in places. I like the part when the fish wishes to be different shapes and I also like it when he is a giant shark and gets his own back on the Sharks. The pictures are great and I would recommend this book to my friends.
