Izzy and her friends are SO EXCITED about their school trip. They're going camping and there'll be marshmallows and no washing and everything. But then WEIRD things start happening! There are howling sounds at night, and some sausages have gone missing, and it's nearly a full moon...

But it's when they see their new teacher's hairy legs that they KNOW! There's a werewolf on the school trip and they're all DOOMED!

Another brilliantly funny longer read for the newly confident reader from the best-selling, award-winning, author-illustrator team, Pamela Butchart and Thomas Flintham.

The author of this book is Pamela Butchart and there are 285 pages. I would have liked more pages because the story was really good and I didn’t want it to end. I got the book from Waterstones in the city where we live, it’s one of my favourite bookshops. When I saw the book on display, I was really excited because I’ve read lots of books by Pamela Butchart before and they are amazing!

The characters in this story are Izzy, Maisie, Zach and Jodi. They all went on a school camping trip and lots of bad things happened, like when they got lost in the wilderness. They started to think there was a werwolf on the loose in the campsite. My favourite part was at the end when Maisie didn’t want to leave the campsite even after everything they had been through.

In my opinion, this book was so good. I wasn’t able to put it down and I just had to read it as much as I could. I got it on Monday and finished on Tuesday after school.

If you haven’t read a Pamela Butchart book before then I think you should read one as soon as you can. At the library we go to, they have some Pamela Butchart books so you should check your library too.

My daughter adores the Izzy series and this title certainly doesn't disappoint. I've only given it 4 stars as I find the constant use of upper case quite distracting but I know that my child thinks it's AWESOME. It's got plenty of laughs throughout and is just about spooky enough for younger readers too.

I like books by Pamela Butchart and this one was really great. I got a little bit lost in the middle of it but then got back on track a few pages later. I like that Izzy and her friends believe lots of strange things and they take them really seriously. In this book they think that there is a werewolf at camp. And the howling at night makes them even more scared. My favourite part was when the sausages went missing because it was funny. I would recommend to age 7 plus

Pamela Butchart is the master of middle grade comedy. She has really aced the imagination and everyday adventure of early primary school kids and her writing beautifully reflects the incredible stories kids create. Immensely enjoyable, easy to read, fast-paced and seriously funny. What's not to love?

This is the first one in the series that I have read and I guess that there is a bit of a theme going on. Predictable as it might be for an adult, for kids it is a funny romp with plenty hair raising bits thrown in. The variation in font and large illustrations will appeal to more reluctant readers.

The characters in the book all have quite distinctive characteristics and personalities which makes them interesting, even though I got a bit bored by the hysteria of the narrator, Izzy, by the end.

I can see this book and the others appeal to our lower KS2 children and might get some for our school library.
