My daughter adores the 'Izzy' series and this one really makes her laugh. It's got all the hallmarks of the series; the group of friends, lots of jumping to the wrong conclusions and LOADS OF EXCITEMENT.
In this story, a new pupil in the school appears to be acting strangely and so the gang think that she's a spy. Of course, they have to investigate and get themselves into all sorts of tricky situations!
If you want a book that really makes you laugh, give it a try!

This is the second adventure of Izzy and her friends Maisie, Zach and Jodi. A new pupil arrives from France and her behaviour is very strange. In fact, she even seems to like the Shepherd's Pie at school which everyone else hates. So there clearly is something wrong with her and Izzy soon suspects her of being a spy!
We read this book in our year 3/4 book club and everyone really enjoyed it. It's very funny and Izzy and her friends are all quirky characters who's desperation to spot something sinister going on leads to all sorts of awkward situations. The use of lots of capitals and exclamation marks adds to the urgency Izzy feels.
But will they be able to catch the spy? Read it and find out...

This is a great book. I read it because I have recently read baby aliens got my teacher and I really liked it. The main characters are Izzy, Zach, Jodie, Maisie and new girl Mathilde. I like that the little gang meet up in the 'den' to have secret meetings about stuff like baby aliens and vampire bats. Plus all of a sudden SPIES!!! I like the test they do on Mathilde and all of the weird chapter names. I will be looking out for more by this author.

Izzy and her friends can't wait to meet the new girl at school! But they think that Mathilde HATES them when she goes off to eat school dinners by herself! And worst of all, Mathilde LOVES school dinners which Izzy and her friends hate! She even likes shepherd's pie, the worst school dinner of all time, and even goes back for SECONDS!

But is Mathilde REALLY an undercover school inspector who's planning to shut the school down?

I really liked this book because it is funny and I really like Pamela Butchart's books.

I really enjoyed this book, it was very funny indeed! It was a great read.

When i first read the blurb i thought that i may be introduced to a character that spoke actual French throughout the book book Matilde's broken English French accent is still fun to read so i wasn't too disappointed.

I thought the story was lots of fun and i liked the children's investigation of the new kid they thought might be a spy!

My favourite character was definitely Matilde, she was quiet to begin with and i completely understand that.

I will definitely look out for other titles by Pamela Butchart.

The book is the best book I've ever read. It is about a girl called Izzy and her friends. A new girl starts school who is French and Izzy and her friends think she is a spy. The book is really funny and has really funny names for chapters such as "Is that the Eiffel tower or a strawberry cornetto?"
