We have read a few of the Fairytale Hairdresser books now so I knew my girls would enjoy this take on the classic Beauty and the Beast story. The illustrations are lovely with lots of funny details and my 3 year old likes spotting all her favourite characters that appear throughout the book. Her favourite part is when the Beast/Prince gets his makeover with all the different styles, she also loves the glittery cover. A new favourite in our ever growing collection.

Dylan (who is 3 years old) has always been a fan of the classic Beauty and the Beast. I had a feeling he was going to love this book and I was right! He was captured by the story within minutes and happily listened while I read, every now and he would point to pictures and tell me all about the character or the action that was happing in the picture. The timing of our first reading of the book was perfect! Dylan had just got his hair cut the week before and he was very excited every time Katie Lacey was fixing someones hair. I personally think that the book is much better suited to young children than the original classic story with the right messages being portrayed to the child regarding meeting people you don't know, staying with your friends, friendships and kindness. The story uses small and understandable words for children of Dylan's age and above. It is easy to follow and with beautiful, bright pictures it captures the eye. A wonderful read which we both loved and will be read over and over again in our home.

We are huge fans of the Fairytale Hairdresser series and as beauty and the beast fans this was a must have book for us. Abie Longstaff is an incredible authour who can really make you feel part of the story. Kittie Lacey is such a creative character and these stories are such a great twist on classic fairytales that many people know but you gwt a new story from them. Bella instead of loving books likes to draw and they stumble upon the castle to keep out of the rain. The book continues in a great way with a really lovely happy ending. The artwork is incredible and the colours just make the book so enjoyable to read. It is certainly a great book for all little girls and maybe even boys alike. Its def on our top 10 of bedtime stories

I knew this book like be a hit, as my daughter loves the beauty and the beast film, and we have the Cinderella version of this book, which she loves. It was easy to read and kept my daughters attention. We loved the illustrations which were beautifully done and very colourful. My daughter likes the hairdresser bit of the story, as she can relate as she goes to the hairdressers. She like the end bit where the prince tries different styles until he found the right one. We have read this book lots, it's a great twist on the classic.

My daughter loved this book. She really liked seeing her favourite princesses dressed differently and loved the bright pictures. In her own words "the people who wrote the book are good and so are the people who drew the pictures".

This was a really lovely book. Great characters and colourful illustrations. My daughter Bella (4 1/2) was particulaly in love with the book as there is a character called Bella. The story held her attention and she asked questions as we went along. This is going to be a bedtime favourite I can tell.

Gabriella age 18 months seems to be really enchanted by the Fairytale Hairdresser books, for now because of the sparkly glittery covers. The story is obviously quite long and too complicated for her to understand at the moment, but I enjoy reading this as a last one at night as she falls asleep, as it's a bit more entertaining for me as reader. Alex age eight enjoys the pictures which are amusing for him, like Dr BB Wolf opticians 'all the better to see you with'.

Really lovely stories with a twist for children of different ages to enjoy together.

Georgie and I LOVE this book.
From the glittery cover to identifying all the well-known characters to recognising the storyline from other fairy tales to choosing our favourite styles - it is a great book.
The illustrations are very detailed and colourful and the text easy to read.
We can't wait to read it again as I'm sure we missed things the first time through!

What a beautiful edition to a timeless classic! I absolutely loved this story and the film as a child. I read this to my class recently and they were all hooked. The girls were fascinated by the pictures especially the glittery front cover!  I saw them advertised online through my Twitter account and am followed by the Abbie Longstaff. I just had to buy this book! This is the second in the series that I have, also owning The Fairytale Hairdresser and The Little Mermaid.
The illustrations are bright, engaging and exciting and there is always a multitude of things going on on every page. The children like to spend a few minutes looking at each page to see what they can notice.

We thought Kitty was kind, caring and thoughtful. It was a great book to teach underlying messages in PSHE like not judging people by their appearance, treating everyone equally, how to care for one another and that even the most unlikeliest of people can become friends.
Here are a few quotes from the children:
"My favourite part was when the Beast and Bella got married because I liked the way Kitty done Bella's hair."
"The end was my favourite part because I like the way they end Happily ever after."
"I liked when they got married because I love when people get married. It's very happy."
"I liked the part when the beast turned back to a Prince because then he looked handsome."
"I didn't like the part when Bella was shocked at the beast turning back to a prince. It shocked me too!"
"I didn't like the part when the Beast died because it was sad."
"I didn't like when Kitty didn't finish the Beast's painting because it made him unhappy."
"When Kitty did Beasts hair it made him look pretty. I didn't like that bit because his hair was better as a beast. I like him better as a Prince though."

We loved this story. Thank you!

My daughter liked it which is all that matters! She likes this series as it satisfies her hunger for all things girly. (Personally I find the books a bit too long for the very young children they appear to be aimed at.)
