We read this book over the festive period.  A magical story full of festive spirit, about a Christmasaurus and a boy who believes more than anything. An adventure story with good vs evil, some surprises along the way and a plot that hurtles to a heart-warming conclusion. Perfect for Christmas reading!

I read this to both my 3year old and my 7year old. We read it bit by bit, but  It was more suited for my eldest. My 3 year old did listen to the story, but it didn't hold her attention throughout the whole book. We really enjoy reading Christmas stories, and this was a new one for us so we couldn't wait to read it. It was a unique, original story which we all enjoyed. It was funny and imaginative and my son loved the adventure of the story the most and the great illustrations. I was really impressed by the book.Overall a great, magical, festive story. .

Harry has been reading this to himself since he had it at Christmas. He has already finished it once and is now reading it again.

A story of a little boy who believes, more than anything!
He absolutely loves this book. The story is so lovely, but funny too. A story that definitely gets you hooked! I've never seen my son so engrossed in a book. I would definitely recommend to everyone, whether you have children or not, it is a book that must be read.
There is good and there is evil in this book, the ending is just brilliantly written & unexpected! Please read!

My daughter absolutely loved this book , she was always saying "I wouldn't be mean to William , I'd look after him".
I would read a chapter a night to my daughter and each night she would get so excited as she said the book made her feel Christmassy.
She loved hearing about how Santa and his elves really work . I really enjoyed reading this to my daughter, normally at bedtime I will say a quick story but at times I would actually not want to stop reading this, it's a great book that is addictive.
We especially loved how 'the dinosaur who pooped' got a mention.

Tom Fletcher is probably best known as a pop sensation and part of the writing partnership who produced the 'Dinosaur Who Pooped...' His newest writing venture is definitely aimed at children aged 7+.
In this stonking festive read, our main character, Will Trundle, is whisked away on Christmas Eve - towards the North Pole and adventure!  Following a pretty miserable year, Will is about rethink everything he thought he knew about Christmas with help of flying reindeer, an elf called Snozzletrump, Santa and a very special dinosaur...
I was very pleased to see that this book featured a main character who was in a wheelchair. Disability is rarely represented in children's books so I was happy to learn that Tom had worked closely with the Whizzkids charity to ensure portrayed Will's disability sensitively.

I read this to my class throughout December and they absolutely loved it!  It is a great adventure story with the classic good versus evil but with a few surprises thrown in.  I really enjoyed that the main character, William, had lots of determination despite the bullying from Brenda.  A true feel good story with a Christmas theme.  A must read for all and will no doubt become a Christmas classic to be read year after year.

The main character in this story is a boy called William Trundle and he is bullied because he is in a wheelchair. The Christmasaurus and William accidentally meet when Santa leaves the dinosaur behind at William's house and they have  many adventures together.
I liked the story because it made me feel really Christmassy and the adventures were things that I could only dream of doing!

Well it took u a while to read (sorry Toppsta!) but it was so worth it! We read this as a family, so it took longer as we all had to be around to read a chapter (that included Daddy). To start with the girls were a little 'jolly' and didn't get into the book quite as quickly as I had liked. It took a while for the story to grab hold and suck them in, but when it did it was amazing! We went from Eleanor, standing on her head balancing against the wall whilst trying to listen, and Scarlett picking her nose, concentrating more on my earings than listening, to them both, leaning over the book waitin with baited breath for the next sentence!
They adored the first chapters on the hatching of the egg. They cried tears of laughter when 'snozzletrump' the elf 'trumped' with excitement when the egg hatched, they loved that Santa had to hatch the egg by sitting on it and they were quickly drawn into the story waiting to see what happened next!
Then the book moves on to the story of William Trundle. A young boy who is wheelchair bound. This part of the story really touched the girls emotions as it describes how William was bullied by a nasty girl called Brenda Payne. Both girls were horrified at how nasty Brenda was to William and it provoked lots of conversations on bullying and making people feel grotty. They were both very sad that William didn't have a mummy as well.
As the story moves on you read that William writes his Christmas list for Santa and asks for ......( I won't spoil it but the title gives you a clue!). Then the story really starts to get going! It involves a nasty hunter and Williams adventures with the Christmasaurus. Brenda Payne ends up not being quite as much as a pain as she first was, and you see William help her out and make her see the error of her ways.
We all thought the story was great. Lots of twists and turns and excitement. Lots of screams of laughter from the girls and even mummy and daddy thought it was a great book. The illustrations were fantastic and added to our imagination and the rhymes sung by the elves were really catchy! As we read the book we stopped and Scarlett read the rhymes. It was a great way to get her involved and she loved bring able to help read the book.
If you don't have this book for Christmas then you need to order it now! We are in the full Christmas swing now and it's not even December!

I purchased this book for my 6 year old's birthday which falls a week after Christmas. My son loved it and could be heard giggling away as he read the names of the elves. He would read it independently and some nights we would curl up in bed and would read a few pages to him.
He enjoyed how the toys were made by the elves as it was so original.
Amazing plot and so imaginative.

We're only 5 chapters in, but my 6-year-old, 8-year-old and I are absolutely gripped.  The Christmasaurus is a joy to read. It's very amusing and my boys have enjoyed finding out just how big Santa's bottom is!   The characters are great and each night leaves us wanting to read just a bit more than we should.   It's brilliant! Even after Christmas!

We are about a third of the way through and are loving it . Great characters and continues the humour that his earlier picture books had ( which we also loved !) . I am reading with my six year old and it is challenging for him but he really likes it and the illustrations and songs break it up nicely.

I have never come back to post a second review but Alex has not had his nose out of this book nor has he stopped raving about it. He is insistent that his dad and I both read it. Best book ever he is saying. When I Have asked him why he says because Tom Has used really good words.

I read this book to my twin cousins when they come over to stay and they absolutely love it. Tom's humour in the book just brings such a fun bedtime story, especially with the names of the elves and Tom's wacky way of writing. The book exaggerates Tom's massive imagination and it is a firm favourite now with my cousins, always asking to read it again.

I read this book rather than letting my daughter read it as I didn't want there to be any chance of the magic of Father Christmas being spoilt....how silly was I? Of course Tom Fletcher wouldn't allow that to happen and would, in fact, only add to the magic of Christmas.
I love this book and felt like I was in the story feeling every emotion with a wonderful picture in my mind of all of the settings. There are twists and turns right to the end that make in unputdownable!
Amazing book!

I started to read this at the beginning of December my mum had bought me this as she thought I would like it. It had me hooked from the beginning and kept me wanting more. So if you love dinosaurs, rhyming elves,  big bottomed father Christmas's , a hero or two, several baddies and lots of twists and turns then this is a book for you. Be prepared to laugh out loud!
I like reading and liked the way there were pictures mixed with the text.

I read this to my 5/6 year old through December (his birthday being on the 13th of the month). For me, I loved the book, it's humour, it's inventiveness and the little touch of magic that is woven throughout. My son read it with me (he likes to read the parts of various characters when we read together), he loved the elf rhymes very much, particularly the rhythm and pace. He enjoyed the story overall; I think bits of the plot went over his head somewhat but we will certainly return to it at some point in the future.

I bought this book to read to my year 3 class and ended up loving it just as much as them! It’s funny, sometimes sad and more importantly un-put-downable. It’s entertaining and also encourages empathy from the children when dealing with real life experiences, whilst embracing Christmas spirit! Thoroughly recommend for children and adults alike!

A fantastic Christmas story for all the family about the magic of believing and what can happen when you truly believe.

We read this as a family over the festive period and the book was an exciting read for all of us. One of the best books we have read.

Have spoken to lots of friends about it and would highly recommend as a great read.

The Christmasauras is about a sad dinosaur that is one of a kind and a bullied boy (William) who's in a wheelchair.  They adventure on and have to save each other.
It is a marvellous book with funny rhymes and elf names.  It is written in a way that you can picture it with a bit of help from the beautiful, gorgeous pictures.  The only thing that I dislike is that I can't read it without wanting it to be Christmas Eve.
My favourite character has to be the christmasauras, closely followed by Sprout who just seems like a strange funny character.  If I were to rate it out if 1 to 5, I would rate it 6.
I think that kids under 10 will love this book so will their parents too!

My (then 8 year old) daughter received this book as a gift and read it in a day despite its length.  She was unable to put it down which I thought was a good sign that the book was very good.  She was keen to discuss it and I thought it would be helpful for me to read it as well so that I could trully join in the conversation.  This is a wonderful book.  It touches on a number of subjects that are lovely to discuss with children and it is a perfect book to read around Christmas in particular although not exclusively.

This book shows an amazing story about a boy named William Trundle, and a dinosaur, the Christmasaurus. They both  met one Christmas Eve and have lots of magical adventures. The reader will learn about life in the North Pole (elves, Santa and his massive house, farmers and diggers (yes that's right!) ) as well as about the life of a normal boy in the wheelchair. Both worlds are shown in a really Christmassy way and when you start to read it you just can't stop! The whole book is about friendships and families, singing elves (an amazing songs can be found in the whole story - I actually can't wait to hear the audio version of this book! It will be awesome!) and magic. I love the atmosphere and the fact that all kind of emotions were shown in this book (Christmas mood, loneliness, parental' love, bulling and all the problems the children can face at school just because they are "different"). The words can't really explain how I feel about this book - it's my favourite one now!!!
This is a delightful, enchanting and timeless book! The Illustrations are absolutely beautiful!
It is a great rendition that will appeal to all and bring the magic of Christmas to both young and old.
It shows to children all the excitement for Christmas without a mass of presents.
If you're looking for a great book for your child to read about Christmas beauty...this would be that book!

Absolutely  fantastic.

Me and my daughter have loved every bit of it. From the alternate idea about the jobs of the elves, to Williams Dads Christmas jumper - that he knitted himself. Christmassauras is hilariously funny, full of rhyme and song, it's well written and just about the best kids book we have read all year.

We have raced through Christmassaurus because Boo hasn't wanted to stop reading, so we have literally read it every spare moment we've had.
This book will have huge appeal to junior aged kids but is suitable for everyone old and young. It would be a perfect book to read during advent (so much so that we will be reading it again - slower this time to take it all in).  We have been telling everyone we know how much we've loved it,

Tom Fletcher is a fantastic kids author and with this book he is certainly up there with the greats.

My son has enjoyed starting to read this book. There is something lovely about reading a festive book at Christmas perfect for the long dark nights. We love the way Tom describes the characters from William and his dad to the elves who find the hidden egg. My son loves books that have a mix of words and pictures to help him in the story's imaginary world and this book has some beautiful illustrations. We have loved the first few chapters and cant wait to see where the story takes up.

The christmasauras is a jolly book with an evil character and a happy ending. Unlike most books, it involves a dinosaur who wants to fly but he has no wings. There is a boy called William who has a disability and no mum but loves dinosaurs and wants one for Christmas. William is bullied by everyone because of his disability. There is a plot twist at the end which surprised me so much I had to put the book down and laugh saying to myself 'Oh my goodness, wow!' All in all, the Christmasauras was amazing.
