The second in a series of concept books created for the National Trust, this board book takes very young readers on an autumnal walk through the countryside. With beautiful illustrations from Ros Beardshaw, this elegant little book is a great way of bringing children closer to nature.

This book is fantastic. We really enjoyed reading it again and again. The book follows two friends on their walk in the countryside and along the way they count the things they see. My son and I loved this story. It's a great way to help little ones recognize numbers and to also help them with their counting. We had great fun finding the different numbers of items on each page and thought the illustrations were wonderful. Such a fun story and a fantastic learning tool. Would really recommend this book.

This is our most favourite counting/number book and the most valuable I have ever seen, in that it goes beyond 10...all the way to 20 and then the number 100!  The gorgeous illustrations by Rosalind Beardshaw, of some very different counting items (dandelions, blackberries) equal a total dream book!  Lo will not let it be returned to the library!!  Perfect in every way.

This is SUCH a lovely book! Lovely artwork and so many things to find and count. We even made up our own stories from each page about the adventures they might have. My 2.5 LOVES this and we have read it many times. This would make a lovely gift and would be good value compared to some other books.

For us this has been by far the best 'numbers book'. We have been through quite a few and my daughter likes this one best. All illustrations give opportunities for teaching to count and add. The book illustrates the adventures of 2 friends  during their walk in the countryside. There is minimum text so the kids can concentrate on numbers and single words that describe what they count. The illustrations shows also lots of animals and nature so it's a good source to learn a few words in English (my daughter is bilingual so it's crucial for us). I like the fact that the book is a good quality board book so it will last forever and we can pass it to another child who will enjoy it.
I highly recommend this book for all numbers and nature lovers:)

I read this book with my nearly 2 year old son Oscar and he absolutely loved it! It is a sturdy board book with beautiful illustrations of the countryside! It follows 2 friends on a journey through the countryside, counting things as they go. Oscar loved pointing at the numbers and saying them aloud. He loved the ending of 100 stars, he was pleased he'd learnt a new number! I would recommend this book, we really enjoyed it.

We absolutely love this book. The book is hardback & fantastic quality & I love the drawings.
The book is full of things that we currently do as a family ie take the dog for a walk to feed the ducks & fish, looking for swans, geese, blackbirds, squirrels, rabbits, cats; picking dandelions, buttercups & daisies...
This book felt like it could have been written for us & for that reason I absolutely love it & will keep it as a keepsake forever!!!
Love, love, love this book & so glad I have it!  Thank you

Nice to find a counting book that went all the way up to 20! We loved the autumny pictures and the hunting for the things to count. My 4 year old liked the counting and my 1 year old enjoyed pointing out things she knows. I liked the addition of 100 stars to shoe how big a number that is and the cute ending of one bed. Very enjoyable.

Join the main characters for a walk in the countryside in this delightful board book. With so many things to spot and count along the way, this is the perfect way to introduce numbers to little ones. All three of my children (6 months, 2 and 4) have been captivated by the beautiful illustrations. They really set this book aside from any other counting books we've read. As numbers up to 20 are included, and because you really do have to look carefully for some of the things in the pictures, the book is interesting enough for slightly older children too. My four year old was so excited when we tried to count the 100 stars near the end of the of the story. It is also a great book for learning new vocabulary, my two year old has now mastered "acorns, pine cones, stepping stones and blackberries"! We would highly recommend it. Thank you Toppsta!

This is a delightful book for young children who are beginning to count. Each page is about two children being outdoors and having fun, which is exactly how we like to spend our times in this family.
The illustrations are all beautiful, naturally coloured and detailed.
It is a hardback book with board pages which means that it will survive at the hands of youngsters and can be wiped if necessary.
Georgie is all about counting at the moment so this boom is a popular choice whenever possible!

This book is just lovely. The pages are card rather than paper; ideal for tiny hands! It's currently my 1 year olds favourite book. He loves to "count" on each page and although the pictures are quite simple there's lots to talk about, promoting language for learning. Even my 6 year old enjoyed "checking" that there was the correct amount of said objects on each page!

We borrowed this along with the "ABC..." version and my daughter is absolutely in love with them!  As we are often walking in the countryside she really associated with the pictures and the children's adventure and pointing out the different animals, plants and things they saw on their walk!  Absolutely charming.

A beautifully illustrated walk through the countryside aimed to help children learn to count to 20 and to discover the great British outdoors.  Squirrels, pine cones and blackberries await young adventurers as they following along, counting the treasures on every page.
My youngest son loved spotting things we see on out walks and testing out his touch-counting skills.  I would recommended this to anyone with small children.

This was a lovely counting book which incorporated a countryside walk. My daughter enjoyed it, as we love doing things outdoors, and going for walks, so she recognised things on the pages that we see or do when we're out, such as feeding the ducks, seeing birds etc. The illustrations were beautifully done, and my daughter enjoyed counting the different things on each page.personally for my daughter it was a bit basic, she likes more words on a page when I am reading to her, but it's a great counting book for those just learning to count.

This book doesn't have a story line in words but in pictures. The main focus of the story is counting and looking at the lovely artwork. For the price we paid for the book I don't believe it was worth it. My daughter at 2 and will only sit through pages 1-6 then becomes uninterested.
