More than 500 words about vehicles, buildings, jobs and people label colourful LEGO (R) scenes and minifigures to help kids learn the building blocks of language. LEGO City (c) is the perfect place for early readers to encounter lots of exciting words for the first time. There's always something happening, whether it's police officers catching crooks, firefighters training at the fire station or hotdog sellers cooking up tasty snacks! This books is an absolute winner with my son, so many words to learn from his very favourite Lego City characters, also finding objects and the naughty pizza crook.  An absolute winner, so much to look at I would highly recommend this book for children learning to read and also those who just like looking at the pictures.  Also gives you some great ideas on building things with Lego

This is a brilliant book. It is bright and colourful. The pictures are clear and the text is very easy to read. Throughout the book there are challenges, spot the pizza crook, can you find... and lots of clearly labelled lego items. We have poured over many of the pages and particularly like the farm page. It has also given us some ideas for things to build with our Lego.

A brilliant big book packed full of Lego scenes with hundreds of things to spot. The scenes are all sorts like the beach, hospitals, arctic base camps, the park, air shows and loads more interesting locations. We have spend ages spoting fun things and looking at the pictures. The words are clear and neat in white boxes that make them easy to read. A very fun book that any Lego fan would love.

My daughter loves Legoland, so she was really excited to see this book. It's a clever way of introducing a variety of words. The pictures are all Lego scenes fitting a general theme per 2 page spread. There are a few sentences per page to establish a narrative, and small snippets of dialogue add to the scene. Items are labeled throughout, with repetition of words, such as dog, to encourage word recognition. The illustrations are clever, with the humor you find in Lego's movies. There are objects to find throughout the book. And there is a pizza crook to find on each page. I found that to be a great way to tie the story together. It's a book that can be covered in small doses or read in its entirety. I'm planning on gifting a copy to my daughter's school because I'm certain so many children will enjoy it.

This is a great book - it's very busy with every page full of pictures and words and loads to look at. My three-year-old is taking an interest in letters at the moment so she enjoyed looking at the pictures to help her work out what the word might begin with. Each page has a different theme - the only one she wasn't so keen on was the thief! It's a great book for playing "can you find?" on each page and we spend a long time on each page and keep going back to it. It's big and bold and busy and a big hit in our house.

We all really enjoyed this book. It is amazing and has lots of fun things to do. The book is split into four different chapters that guide you along different parts of Lego City. There is also a story of a pizza thief running throughout the book. On each page you need to find the crook with his stolen pizza as well as three different objects which are hidden across a double paged scene. There are also lots of labels for different parts of the scene to help children learn all about Lego City. My son is learning to read and is just starting to play with Lego. He had such fun sounding out and reading the words on each page and the rest of the family were happy to join in and help with any tricky words. We found things like a jackhammer and digger on the construction page and there was landing gear and revolving doors in the airport scene. Children of any age will love this interactive book as it is great fun and also very educational. There are at least 20 labels on each page giving a fantastic amount of familiar and more specialist vocabulary to learn. We loved this book and raced through it as we couldn't wait to carry on to the next page and read more.

Leo really enjoyed this LEGO book and has barely put it down. The scenes are bold and colourful with lots of details that he found interesting. He loved finding familiar sets and minifigures. The word labels are clearly written and Leo could read many by himself, although some were a bit tricky for those just beginning to read. He particularly liked spotting the hidden 'Can you find?' objects and catching the crook on each page. Some hidden objects were slightly obscured by the binding which made them a bit more difficult to spot. It's a fun interactive book for LEGO fans.
