This is my little boy's favourite book! He picks it off the shelf every day, enjoys looking at it by himself and asks me to read it to him over and over again. The clear colourful pages and photos of babies are very appealing, and the simple short rhyming text is very catchy.
My daughter received this as part of book trust she reacts to the book and likes to hold the pages. The rhythm makes her smile and brilliant eye contact. She listens and touches the pages. Great book starting her book journey.
I enjoy reading this book to my baby. It's simple but a nice way of getting her used to reading before bed. The story follows the baby through a normal day and finishes off with night night baby, time for bed. The colours are good and my little one enjoys seeing the pictures, even at a young age. The book is thick too and means she can play and chew (
This book was given to us as part of the Book Start set. Our little girl who is nearly two really loves it. Each page follows a baby's day from waking up, through playing and eating and going out until bathtime and bedtime. My little girl recently surprised us by picking it up and opening the first page and saying the first line - we hadn't read it to for a while but I think the simplicity of the words and pictures meant that she remembered it. It's great for gently teaching children about their daytime routine and the fact that the pictures are of real babies, rather than illustrations, helps with this.
Received this in the Book Start pack when my eldest was a baby. Now she's 3 and reads it to my 7 month old (from memory) who gets very engrossed by the different colours and baby faces. My eldest particularly likes to do an impression of each of the babies which makes my youngest laugh no end! Great little book to pop in your bag too :)
Initially I didn't think a lot about this book that we got from the Health Visitors, but it was just right for one of the first books my son had after his soft books. It has the routine, which he did recognize and also some different details, so he really liked looking at the pages and listening to me reading it to him. Also he used to like to imitate each baby.
Samuel really enjoys this book for several reasons. It has such a simple structure and so few pages that we read it before his nap as a quick and easy way to get him ready and aware it's time to sleep. Secondly, and I think this has actual been a huge help to us, we can show him specific pages when we are about to do something eg. have a wash to prepare him. This picture cue used alongside our verbal explanation really benefits Samuel in his language development. Would really recommend this to parents looking to add another bridge of communication with their babies.
Both my daughters enjoy this book. My two year old knows the words from heart and my baby (7 months) just finds it a delight. The upbeat rhyming text brings a smile to baby's face. She adores touching the different faces on each page. The book is also very inclusive with photos of babies of different ethnicities. A simple book all about a baby day but a very enjoyable read for young ones.
My 2 daughter's have both loved this book when very young, they liked looking at the faces in the book at a young age and gave the book lots of attention. My older daughter now reads it to the younger one and enjoys pointing out the babies in the picture. This book was one of the first we read and has help started a love of reading.
A fantastic book for babies and toddlers. My little girl loves to read this book several times a day.she enjoyed looking at the babies pictures and pretend to have conversations with them. Simple rhymic sentences are perfect for little readers.
My daughter loves this book picking it up for me to read to her. She loves shouting when she sees the bath time. Brilliant book for babies to learn different things that they do every day. Highly recommended.
My 10 month old baby girls goes crazy for this book, she absolutely loves it! She looks at the photographs on each page and often gives each one a kiss! Looking for more books with photos of babies for her to enjoy.
We received this as part of the bookstart pack from the children’s centre and my little ones loves it straightaway. They related to the pictures of the babies, the rhymes were good to follow, and it was a strong, sturdy board book that can withstand chewing, getting wet or getting thrown!
This is such a favourite of Martha's. It has a simple rhyming pattern and lovely bright pictures. It's also good for learning the features of the face - I'll ask her where baby's eyes are and she'll point to the picture. A lovely book.
My daughter loves reading this book everyday. She loves looking at the pictures of the babies on each page. The story is good as it takes you through the routine of the day. I would recommend this book.
