Book pages Georgia O'Keeffe
Georgia O'Keeffe
I read it to Soopa aged 4
We came across this book in the library and loved it straight away. It's an accessible story of the life of the artist Georgia O'Keefe. I read it with my four-year-old and she enjoyed hearing about how Georgia was inspired for her artworks and it led to a lovely conversation about how you can find art everywhere. The illustrations are great and it's not so wordy that it would put off little ones but would definitely be suitable for older children too. We are inspired to go out and buy more books in the series.

Book pages Please Mr Panda
Please Mr Panda
I read it to Soopa aged 4
This is a story about a rude panda that has forgotten his manners. It's a simple way of teaching children basic manners like saying please. The panda is beautifully drawn and it's a good starting point for talking to your child about remembering to say please.

Book pages Peppa Pig: My Mummy
Peppa Pig: My Mummy
I read it to Soopa aged 4
This is a very basic book describing Mummy Pig. It's a bit tedious for the adult but four-year-old even now will pick it and go through it so it obviously works for her!

Book pages Thomas & Friends Busy Engines Lift-the-Flap Book
Thomas & Friends Busy Engines Lift-the-Flap Book
I read it to Soopa aged 4
My daughter is not particularly a big fan of Thomas so I was surprised that she picked this out at our local library but she really enjoyed it. She's a big fan of lift-the-flap books and very much enjoyed lifting the flaps and it did introduce a few new words too. It didn't hold her interest long enough to actually want to take it home from the library though!

Book pages Tiger in a Tutu
Tiger in a Tutu
I read it to Soopa aged 4
My daughter is a big fan of ballet (and tigers!) so this was a great fit for us. It's about a tiger who isn't allowed to do ballet but when he does he's a star. The reason we're not giving it a higher rating as it's very similar in style to the book 'Dogs don't do ballet' which is the same story really but told in a far better way.
