Book pages Paddington and the Grand Tour
Paddington and the Grand Tour
I read it to Soopa aged 4
This is another great story in the Paddington collection. My daughter adores the character of Paddington and I quite like him too! On this adventure we particularly liked that as Paddington and Mr Gruber tour London we got to lots of places that we know. This is a fairly long story for little ones but it kept my daughter's interest as she wanted to know what happened at the end. There is a lovely nostalgic feel to these books and Paddington is still very charming!

Book pages Paddington and the Christmas Surprise
Paddington and the Christmas Surprise

This is another lovely Paddington story that we are currently enjoying despite the fact that it's nowhere near Christmas time. I think these Paddington stories work really well for adults reading to children as there is nostalgia for these stories from our own childhood's but the story is enduring enough to keep the interest of today's kids. This one is especially nostalgic as Paddington and the Brown Family go to a department store to see Father Christmas. It's all very jolly and of course the grumpy shop worker is charmed by Paddington in the end. A sweet story.

Book pages Not Now, Bernard
Not Now, Bernard
I read it to Soopa aged 4
This is a very funny, simple but amusing book. My daughter thinks it's absolutely hilarious. It's a cautionary tale for parents about what can happen when you don't give your kids your full attention! My daughter loves the monster character (drawn in such a way that it's not at all scary) and there's something oddly reminiscent about it even though I didn't read this story myself as a child. She loves to join in with shouting "not now Bernard" all the time. It's a bit off the wall but very funny.

Book pages Paddington at the Rainbow's End
Paddington at the Rainbow's End
I read it to Soopa aged 4
We are big fans of Paddington in our family and were delighted to receive a set of books recently. This one was the first we chose, my daughter being drawn to the rainbow colours. Paddington goes off in search of the different colours of the rainbow. It's fairly simple and quite long but it kept our interest. My daughter thought it was absolutely hilarious that Paddington's favourite colour was orange because of his love of marmalade!
