We read this this evening along with the Opposites small board book.
Again Georgie loved recognising the characters from The Gruffalo story and it offers itself well to language development.

Lots of colours and nice illustrations. My son is learning to talk so nice to say the words to him and encourage him to repeat them. Lots of lovely animal images and a simple word and picture book.

Familiar characters from the Gruffalo used to illustrate the basic colours - red for fox, orange eyes, brown fur of a gruffalo etc.. Its a really clever way of introducing colours - and books of this ilk tend to not include brown... which i always think is a shame as so many animals are brown.... and we try to teach kids about different animals from quite early on. It's a very simple book (with no actual story). Our daughter has not looked at it for a while but has just taken to "reading it" to her dolly... its nice to see her find an accessible book and pretend- play something that we do together and enjoy.

This is part of the "My first Gruffalo" set. It introduces the colours red; green; blue; yellow; orange and brown.

My toddlers enjoyed the familiar Gruffalo characters. There was some room for working on vocabulary but the pictures weren't very detailed to talk much about (although I do understand this was to keep the focus on the colour being demonstrated.)

The pictures are bright and eye-catching; as with all the book in this series.

It's the perfect size for toddlers to use independently and as it's a board book it's also very durable.

It's a lovely book to introduce or learn basic colours.

Using the much-loved characters from the Gruffalo stories this book introduces colours very simply for small children. Lovely sturdy books which are easy for little hands to hold by themselves. Anything Gruffalo-related can do no wrong in our house and my little girl loves that there are animals on every page in these books.
