We have read the full series of The magic Faraway Tree together but this has been a lovely little book for my 6 year old to read to me. They are lovely stories and my son enjoyed reading this.

My girls love this short story book, they have really enjoyed seeing the illustrations and putting a face to the names in the book as have I, breaking this story down into a short story was a very good idea, they are now asking for the other books.

I read this book to my 6 year old daughter.  We had already read The Land of Birthdays, which we borrowed from our local library, so was very keen to read another book in this series.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the story, very suitable to her age and these books always keep me keen for us to read together because of such nostalgic feelings of reading Enid Blighton books when I was young.  We will definitely be looking out for others in this series.
Excellent!

I loved the Faraway Tree books when I was a child so was excited to read this with my daughter. Although it's a step up for her (i.e. not a board book, but normal paperback size) every page has full colour illustrations so it's a good one to help with the transition to more grown-up style books. Lots of details have been changed from the originals, from names of the characters to the actual things they get up to (Fannie is now called Frannie!) to bring it up to date. When I read these books in the '80s they were very dated then and I didn't mind that, in fact I think it's good for kids to read books from different eras. However, on this occasion I was surprised to find that I really liked the modern version and it did a good job at appealing to my daughter who is probably a tad too young for it really. It's the first book we've read where we've just read a chapter then go on to read another chapter later. I thought she might be a bit scared by some of it (e.g. when Connie gets into trouble) but she was fine and keen to find out what happened. A fantastic adaptation of a classic and we will look to complete the set.

This is s great modern version of the original story. The updated book features bold text and colourful illustrations and keeps the same magic and adventure as the original book I read as a child. This book could be read to younger children or read  independently by 7+. We really enjoyed reading this book before bedtime.

I loved reading The Magic Faraway Tree and the other books in the series when I was younger so it has been great to share this modern version with my family. The Land of Enchantments book takes the children on adventure up the Faraway Tree and firstly into The Land Of Secrets. Unfortunately Connie gets into trouble and loses her voice so they must go to the Land Of Enchantments to see if they can help her get it back. This is where their adventure really begins. The book itself is very colourful and has some fantastic illustrations. The text has a few tricky words but competent readers would have no trouble with it. I love the fact that some parts of each page are in bold print. It really breaks up the text and makes it look more interesting overall. There is also a double page at the start which introduces you to the main characters. We really enjoyed this story and would love to read more of the books in this modern Faraway Tree series.

My 6 year old son really enjoyed this book. Having a short story meant it was achievable for him to finish as sometimes with longer books he can get bored. The illustrations were brilliant and kept him engaged.

My son read parts of this independently and asked me to read it to him a couple of nights later at bedtime. When his cousins visited on holiday they picked it up too to read. A popular book in our house but it is not one he asked for/read himself each night so took longer than usual to finish. He enjoyed it when reading it, but didn't think to choose it.

I had heard of Enid Blyton before but never read any of her books, so I was interested to see what I thought of one of her books. It was a short story, I read it easily and independently. I really liked the colourful illustrations throughout the book. I liked all the characters but Joe the best, as he is a boy. There were no hard words to read and it got me using my imagination. It wasn't one of the best stories I have read but I did enjoy it
