Harriet loved this book and was able to read it confidently. She found the Lego style engaging as she is a big Lego fan and really enjoyed testing hers and others knowledge at the end. It was a great way of introducing some positive female role models and encouraging her interest it STEM. Will definiely be buying more of the series.

This book as been a real eye opener for my 7 year old son. The hook for him was the Lego aspect but the facts, Drama and sheer excitement of space made this a real favourite of his.
We also paralleled the book with our trip to the Kennedy space centre too which sparked so many questions.
Plus his building of Lego spaceships has improved no end.

This book is a really fun introduction to the 4 women Lego has focuses on in their women of NASA set. Details are given about each woman's accomplishments. There is a range of vocabulary introduced, and information is given about space shuttles. One thing that is a bit different from most Lego entertainment is that it's a bit more serious. I was glad that they didn't trivialize the accomplishments of these pioneers with their standard with and humor. Even without, it is an interesting book that managed to keep my daughter's attention. Her favorite part was a picture of the Earth and moon. I'd recommend this book to young children interested in space and those who want to show that women are capable of scientific and physical accomplishments. It's also great for all Lego fans.

We loved this book and my 6 year old was able to read it himself comfortably. The book ties in with the Lego set Women of Nasa, giving a brief history of each of the women. The book is divided into very short chapters (great for children who want to read chapter books but are sometimes a bit overwhelmed by them) with large photos of the minifigures from the Lego set, along with other Lego space items. There is an index and a quiz at the end to help with understanding. My son is a fluent reader but less confident readers would be able to manage the book. It would make a great gift alongside the Lego set.

I really liked this book as it told me lots of cool facts about women heroes! I love lego figures so like they way the book looked. I learnt lots of new facts and my mum loved me reading it to her.

Most NASA books are about men so it was cool to read about women who did amazing stuff.
I loved the bright pictures in the book.

This book is ideal for children that are learning to read, are familiar with the letter sounds and blending them together to make words. It's also a good size for them to hold by themselves. There are plenty of Lego-themed pictures and labels which Leo loved looking at and reading, in particular Space travel and Blast off! The book was fun, engaging and had information about women in occupations such as astronauts, astronomers and computer scientists. There were some new words that Leo was unfamiliar with that he found more difficult, but overall the book was appropriate for his reading level. He has also read some other titles from this series, Lego Batman and Lego Ninjago, which he also enjoyed.

We had a mixed reaction to this book in our house. The things about it that I like about it, as a parent: it's about heroic women and it positively encourages girls to take an interest in STEM subjects and shows that they are cool and it shows positive female role models. The things my daughter likes about it: it's got rockets and the moon and stars in it and bizarrely, she also really likes the rather shiny paper it's printed on. So based on those points you'd think it would be a five star review but it fell just short for two reasons - for me, because I really just don't get why the people are portrayed in lego (I realise the book is made by lego) but there doesn't seem to be any point to this except to motivate you to buy the lego sets and that leaves me feeling a bit deflated. Also, for my three-year-old, it did seem a bit textbook-like with the test at the end and it would have been great to have more fun, age-appropirate facts about space and the NASA women's impact on space discovery.
