Billy is afraid of the dark and is lying in bed when he hears a loud bang and discovers his purple paint knocked over and tiny purple footprints! In the morning he discovers that something has taken a bite out of his tie! What is going on? Is something living in his new chest of drawers? And will anyone in his family believe him when he tells them about the mysterious going-ons?

A really clever, funny book. When we see the story from the mini monsters' point of view, the book becomes a cartoon, which is really imaginative and my four year old twins really enjoyed that aspect of the book.

It's a good book to read to children who aren't yet independently reading themselves, but also a great first reader for those who have learnt to read. So many early reader books are dull whereas this is bright, funny and a delight to read.

I read this to my two sons aged 4 & 5 over a couple of nights and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Funny little monsters with disgusting habits which my sons found hilarious. My 5 year old was reading a few words but would probably be able to read this himself in the next 6 to 12 months and we will go back to it. He liked to pick out and read to himself about the different monsters detailed on the back pages. A nice way of letting children to realise the dark isn't a scary place. I also found the bookmark a lovely addition.

This is a sturdy little A5 book with loads of bright pictures of cute little monsters.  Although I think aimed at children who are becoming a little more confident in their reading Tom still found lots to enjoy here.  A monster called Captain Snott and Trumpet who couldn't stop farting provided him with a lot of amusement and there are still plenty of bright and engaging illustrations to help the story along. It was an excellent way to introduce him to longer stories broken up into chapters. Billy also makes two (short) numbered lists in the story which Tom liked & I've since heard him describe an action plan to himself in his play so it did spark his imagination.  I think ideally aimed at children who can read with help themselves but he will want to come back to this book and the funny, bright tiny monsters.  For any young reader this is a lovely, bright and engaging and young readers will be very entertained by it.

We loved this book so much we went straight out and got another billy and the mini monster book from the series.  Billy has some mini monsters living in his drawer and this is another great tale of the mini monster adventures.

With tiny purple footprints, squeaky little voices and something attacking his cheese sandwich Billy has a great adventure finding out who.

Great little hardback which means it can be read over and over again, I am looking forward to my son reading these to me and I am sure it will be in our collection and loved for a long time.  As I said before having this book prompted my son to point out another one in the series which we got and is as equally as good.  Highly recommended

I was a bit concerned as I started to read to my daughter as I thought it may frighten her to go to bed but how wrong was I.  A fab book she called a real big girl reading book and it had a book mark. She now takes it everywhere her first real book.
Billy has mini monsters living in his sock drawer and they create mayhem in his room. A fun story with great illustrations and a character called Ruby too what more could she love about it. She loved the back of ok fact sheets on the mini monsters and wanted to hear about each one and learned their names.

Have been requested three times since first read, it maybe slightly longer than her usual books but we are enjoyed the book too.

My boys loved this book. There is a great mixture of story and cartoon strip which is great for children who are beginning to read alone.

Billy is afraid of the dark as he imagines these are monsters in his room. He is very surprised when he starts to see purple footprints and gooey slime in his sock drawer. Thankfully this is a book which teaches children there is no reason to be scared of the dark.

We will be looking for other books in the series as we enjoyed this one so much.

Elijah, nearly 5, and reading quite well, won this book in a Toppsta giveaway. We read it with his 7 year old sister, and we all loved it. Very funny text, bright illustrations & a handy size, made it perfect as an early reader's first grown-up book. Our children loved it that Billy's parents didn't believe his nibbled school tie, purple footprints etc. explanations, & loved the idea that a gang of cute little monsters could be living in a drawer in Billy's room. Just coming out to cause mayhem ( & terrible smells) at night. Elijah wants to get more Billy and the Mini Monsters books, thank you Toppsta!

My son really enjoyed this book, I was a little worried when it first began as it seemed like it was going to be a bit too scary for my son who has suddenly taken a dislike to being in the dark.  However, as the story continued it turned out to be quite a funny book and my son has since asked me to read it on a number of occasions.  I like how the book also comes with a bookmark too.

Nice enough book, but it is a bit lengthy for my 5-year-old. Perhaps one to read during the day instead of night when your exhausted. Pics are good and storyline is interesting.
