My daughter was very excited about winning this book in the giveaway... she began reading as soon as it was delivered. She read and she read right till the end in one sitting. That's very good for her... she looses interest very easily.
She loved the pictures and the colours as well as the story.
The characters and the storyline were very age appropriate.
The cover of the book is very enticing with its bold colours and pictures.

Lovely story about bird, who was looking for his family and when he couldn't find them, he decided to find a job.  Funny story, which my daughter really enjoy, she had many questions about it as well. Great, little book with very nice pictures.

I read this book with both JJ and Li - a pretty little book with simple bright illustrations and not too long - the text was a little difficult to follow, and the story didnt seem to flow as well as others I have read - however the boys enjoyed it and it is a chance to try and broaden their vocabulary - so give it a try! x

My daughter was very excited to receive this book but unfortunately the excitment waned quite quickly. It's slightly different from a lot of modern children's books in that it is a matt finish and although the pictures have lots of different colours they feel slightly subdued because of this. The story is fun - about a little bird and lots of different sounds. We enjoyed making the sounds but after a while my little girl just lost interest despite being a big fan of animals. I think that although an adult can see that it's a sweet story which raises questions it's too subtle for a small child.

This story follows the adventures of a bird on its travels. My daughter enjoyed it , but had lots of questions that weren't answered in this book (I think it's part of a series so maybe you have to read them all). My daughter enjoyed guessing who the eye belonged to in the opening pages.

This is a really cute, simple, short story about an unexpected visitor, a bird called Spencer and his travel adventure. My kids absolutely loved this book which I read to them. My little girl is just learning to read and sound words out so she really enjoyed trying to read the words on each page.

I felt the book was age-appropriate and the storyline was fast-paced enough that it kept their interest throughout. I loved that although the book is about sounds, it is not just about that, and the sound aspects of the book are interwoven in a really subtle way. My children and I used the book to pick out and discuss the different sounds, we had guesses at what was making the noises and that was really fun and engaging. The storyline is quite exciting and unpredictable which kept my kids focused and I also appreciated the part where the bird perservers in his quest to find employment, I think that had a really positive and powerful message for my children. Both Bobby and Gracie loved that the book was about a family of animals, as they are both massive animal lovers and this made them love the story even more. They thought the family were really cute and sweet.

The illustrations are really cute, I felt like they had a really 80's feel to them which I personally as an 80's child myself, the book had a really nostalgic feel to it. I also liked how the book is part of a larger series and is based on characters from that series, my kids definitely are interested in reading the other stories in the series and finding out what their favourite characters have been up to.

Its ok my little boy lost interest in, I can see where the story is going if you don't succeed keep on trying but I'm not sure younger children would understand the message

Not very long with good illustrations, good for a short story before bed.

'Just ok and a bit weird' is how my 5 year old son described this book and I have to agree with him, the storyline does not really match the title of the book to be honest, it is all a little odd whilst understanding it is about try try and try again as a basis of the story the message really does not come across clearly, the characters are strange, it will definitely not be a favourite in our house.  Looking for positives the story is not too long and nice illustrations.
