This is different book from all the books my son has been reading, I was starting to read to both my sons when my 7 year old took over to read himself and to his little brother as his little brother likes dragons a lot.
They both enjoyed the book, illustrations were
Great, youngest son loved looking at the pictures and trying to tell his story.

We really loved this addition to the Dragonsitter series. It's written as a series of emails, which my daughter loved; they get more and more outrageous as the story goes on! It's fab to read a fantasy type story for younger readers that has genuine humour in it. We loved the illustrations, which accompany each email and show a little more about the chaos that is unfolding.
It's perfect for younger readers to read alone or for sharing at bedtime!

We read this book at bedtime together and it was so good. It is visually nice to look at and is a good way of encouraging kids to read bigger books. The storyline is quirky and has a good pace. The book is written in a series of emails, which gives it a modern twist. Highly recommend it.

This is the first book we have read in the Dragonsitter series and we really enjoyed it. Edward's Uncle Morton gifted him a very old Dragon Egg and Edward spends the book emailing back and forth to Uncle Morton about changes in the egg. The emails are very interesting and often include great pictures (black and white pencil drawings) that act as illustrations for the book. The story gets more interesting and a lot more fun as the emails go on. They become wilder and wilder as more and more characters are introduced and we found it hilarious. We especially loved the dragons in the book. We will definitely read more books in the Dragonsitter series.

This is our first Dragonsitter story, so we don't really know why the name Dragonsitter, but we had lots of fun with this book! It's all written through emails being sent between Eddie and his uncle. It's a great idea to use attachments in the emails to illustrate the book. We read it in two parts and were very curious to know what would happen throughout the book. My son loved seeing more and more dragons in the story and was quite curious to see more of the phoenix, so he got a bit scared/sad when he saw the phoenix being attacked by the dragons and dying, even with another egg appearing afterwards, I think he was hoping to see it at least coming back again (me too). This book is a good book for young readers that love adventures and dragons. We are curious to ready the first book now and learn more about the Dragonsitter.

This is the first book in the Dragonsitter series that we have read. I was worried that it might be too advanced for my 3.5 year-old but it's not quite a chapter book, more a book of an email exchange between Eddie and his uncle which keeps each section quite concise. We enjoyed reading it together and the pictures (not on each page) helped to make it more accessible to my little one. The story is funny and we enjoyed it together. She also enjoyed reading what she saw as a 'big kid's' book. We would read more in this series.

A lovely book for my 6 year-old daughter. Well written and modern with the use of email. It also had enough illustrations to keep her entertained and focused. Clever and fuuny - she was laughing out load at the poo episodes! Lovely characters which you can empathise with - I did with the stressed out Mum! Also a lovely use of fantasy to get their imaginations going. Would recommend.
