We just got this book yesterday and it was an instant hit ::)He best part is how the box it came in turns into a garage and you can collect other books in the series and build a whole village. The book that accompanies it is pretty great too. Whoever came up with this idea knows the way to little boys hearts, my son loves it :)

I've introduced this set to the 4 year old autistic child I work with , his interests are rigid but cars are a favourite. He loves the cars , jigsaw track and the garage.. he was entertained for over ten minutes. This is a very long time for him. He has been choosing to look through the book, yet again he is very fussy and reluctant to envolve himself in reading, so this I consider a success too . My verdict this is a brilliant set ideal for introducing children to reading in a fun interactive tactile way. Highly recommend for nursery to reception aged children.

My four year old loves this book with its real life photos to accompany the facts on how cars are built, different types of cars, how we drive, etc. The information in the book is in the form of short sentences, which are easy to absorb. My little boy liked being able to tell Daddy about the things he'd learned from the book - 'cars are made in big factories, and that's where they are painted different colours' etc.

The accompanying jigsaw and cars were an instant hit. The cars are chunky wood, great for little hands to grab hold of - my two year old loved playing with them.  The box can be used to make garage, and my two played together, driving the cars round the jigsaw before parking them in the garage.  Once play is finished everything can be packed away in the box for easy storage.

This is a fantastic book which makes a great gift. In addition to a very factual, informative book it comes with a jigsaw and little wooden cars. My daughter and her friend spent a long time making the cars drive around and they absolutely loved that the box could be used as a garage - this was their favourite part. The book on its own was ok - more facts than story but the combination of all the other features made it a huge hit. We will be buying this as a gift for friends very soon.

My daughter loves vehicles so I knew this would be a big hit with her. When she saw it she was really excited. I really liked how you got the different things within the set; the book, the cars and the puzzle you put together to make the road the cars can drive on. My daughters favourite bit is the puzzle. She puts it together herself, then will play with the cars on it. I liked that the cars were wooden, so very sturdy and will be long lasting. I thought the book was going to be a story book, but it was more like an information book. My daughter got bored by bits of it, such as the history of cars, and some bits of it I would say wasn't aimed at 3yr olds, like which car logos do you know. I liked the box it came on, as we can keep all the bits of the set together when my daughter has finished using it. A great set for both boys and girls.
