The Wolves Who Came for Dinner
Author: Steve Smallman Illustrator: Joelle Dreidemy
This is a fresh telling of an old tale, the normally ‘bad’ Wolf is good and is best friends with Hotpot, a lamb.

The other animals in the forest just can’t believe and accept the relationship and mount several attempts to open Hotpot’s eyes...

Lo was really rooting for this friendship, he was sad that Wolf was misunderstood.

This is a lovely book, demonstrating that anyone and everyone can be friends.

Kipper: The Blue Balloon
Author: Mick Inkpen
I’m not quite sure how we have not read this book before!  What a wonderful little picture book it is...

This is the first appearance of Kipper, Mick Inkpen’s most famous 30 years old!

Lo loved the fold out pages...and the idea of the balloon changing form...and it being unbreakable!!!

Together with a cardboard box, a balloon has to be the most fun filled, low/no cost, fun-filled play thing!  I think this is why this book is as joyous for children now as it would have been then, here’s to the next 30 years!

Author: Suzy Senior Illustrator: Claire Powell
We love octopi and, really wants not to love?!

Super to see a book set in the sea...perfect to showcase lots of very-infrequently-seen-in-picture books creatures!.  Wonderful colours in the illustrations.

Octopus is not wearing pants like all the other sea creatures, so he goes in search of a pair...will he find some?  His quest has a very funny outcome!

Great for all!

Daisy: Really, Really
Authors: Kes Gray , Nick Sharratt
We are massive Daisy, Kes Gray and Nick Sharrart fans!

As usual, Daisy is being a little bit naughty!  She’s cheeky and trying her luck with a baby sitter...she is very funny..

we did have a little chat about how naughty she is and that we mustn’t lie...but it’s all in good fun!

Great intro to the Daisy chapter books too!

A Brave Bear
Author: Sean Taylor Illustrator: Emily Hughes
We all sat together to read this book...both of my children really loved the illustrations.

Little bear has a great idea to cool off on a very hot day, but the journey there has some hurdles...will little bear and Dad make it safely?

Gorgeous details, unusual muted, matte colours/pages.  Sweet story.
