It's Daisy's birthday and she's having a special birthday treat! Mum has invited her best friends, Gabby and Dylan, on a trip to the zoo - and, best of all, Mum has arranged for Daisy to go into the actual penguin cage with the actual zoo keeper and FEED actual penguins! REAL ACTUAL PENGUINS! With actual beaks and everything!! Trouble is, Daisy doesn't just feed the penguins, she 'adopts' one to take home and everything . . .

My 6 year old daughter loves reading about the exploits of Daisy and she has indeed become a firm favourite in our home. This book was a present from Santa! Read by my daughter and myself, it is a great starter read. As a parent you read it in total gratefulness that Daisy isn't yours and feel so sorry for her mum! It's written from Daisy's point of view and is a joy to read out loud! So much laughter!

I liked the font in this book because it was very clear and easy to read.  It was full of laughs and surprises and I was glad it had pictures other wise you wouldn’t have been able to get a clear picture in your head.  The age range of this book would be 8-10 because you wouldn’t want it to be to young for you or to old for you .In this book daisy had trouble whith peinguins at feeding time but in the end it all worked out for her 7th birthday.A thrilling book in all and I would love to read more in the series.

I LOVED this book because it's really funny. I love the bits where it says in bubble writing 'The trouble with...' and so on. There wasn't even a word I didn't like in this book. It's a thick book but I read it all in two days because I just could not stop reading it! I have read some of these books before by Kes Gray and I'd write him a letter and tell him that he has written a brilliant collection of books because all my friends read them too. I like the covers. That is why I chose this book because the cover made me want to read it. Its very bold and I like the silly pictures. I would give this book a five because I love zoos and it was super funny. This book was about Daisy's birthday and her not getting over excited about zoos. She was going to feed actual penguins at the zoo, it made me feel excited. I would love to do that. She tried to adopt a penguin but instead she just took it home. She asked for some frozen food for it but her mom said no and made her take it back to the zoo because it was the best place for it. She called the penguin Findus. This was funny. I like penguins and they were Daisy's favourite too!

This book was great. And would be fab to get young readers into chapter books. Daisy will be a familiar character to many young readers from Kes Gray’s picture books about the same character.

In this adventure, Daisy is turning 7 and for her birthday she’s going on a super special trip to the zoo with her 2 best friends. She’s also having a super special treat and feeding the penguins. The trouble with zoos is they don’t always make things clear yo7 year old girls who only have a few short years’ life experience which leads to plenty of trouble!

As a penguin fan myself I loved Daisy’s first hand recount of her adventure and if I’m honest, I’d love to do what she did!! As a 32 year old teacher I know that if be in serious strife! And get pecked to bits!!

Asa teacher, I have every intention of sharing this book with my class. They’ve come to share my love of penguins and will enjoy sharing this story together. Short chapters and lots of funny moments will make for a great class story (mentions of poo and wee will help add to the hilarity I’m sure!!)
