Marty and her sister Melissa couldn't be more different. Marty loves her Converse trainers, playing football, hiding in her secret den and helping her dad with his DIY. But Melissa loves Justin Bieber and all things pink, girly and pretty.

The sisters can manage to live together, despite their occasional scraps but then Mum tells them they have to share a room. For Marty, having to share her bunk beds and lose her private sanctuary turns out to be the very worst thing about having a sister. But the girls soon discover that being too close for comfort can have unexpected consequences, and when an accident happens, the sisters realise they are closer than they thought.

Marty is a tomboy. Melissa is Marty’s older sister and a very girly girl. They do not get on.
I like Marty because she writes all these comic strips about her as a super hero, although Marty is also very aggressive and sometimes a bit mean.
In the end a serious accident takes place, will Marty and Mellisa come to FINALLY get along?
I would recommend this book to all girls 8 years and above, tomboys and girly girls alike!

This is a really good holiday read. Marty is a tomboy who has to give up her room to share with her really 'girlie, prissy and pink ' sister,Melissa. This is so that her mum can set up a sewing business in her bedroom. I like both sisters because I could see bits of me in both of them. They were really life like. You can feel their emotions. One day the girls have a fight which goes horribly wrong. Can they EVER get along together? If you read the book you will find out! I love Jacqueline Wilson as an author. She writes about real life situations and her historical books like Hetty Feather are great too!

I read part of this book to my 8 year old daughter and she read part herself. The main characters are Marty who is a tomboy and her older sister Melissa who is very girly and likes make up and sparkly things. The story is about how the girls have many arguments, then things get worse when they have to share a room. I think many young girls will relate to the story. It is the first Jacqueline Wilson book my daughter has read, but she loved this and wants to read more.

I enjoyed this book because it reminds me of my big sister and I. I'm a bit like Marty and I know how she feels having to give up her special den. Marty is getting bullied and takes matters into her own hands, what will happen? Marty and Melissa don't get on, but can they share a room without arguing? Read the book to find out.

This book was really enjoyable, but sad at times. I don't think I disliked anything. In this book you get to meet tomboy Marty and her girlie sister, Melissa. They never really got along. Once, Marty stole Melissa's eye pencil and used it to create her comic, because her normal pencil broke. Although, they're still as bad as each other because, Melissa soon got back at her sister for all the unintentionally mean things she had done, by hiding all of Marty's cuddly toys under the bed and telling her that she had put them in the bin. Marty got angry and they started fighting. Then, something terrible happened, which led to Marty feeling horrid, yet still managing to meet the most amazing artist... Can the girls friendship ever be fixed?
