Lily isn't home ALONE - but she sort of wishes she was; looking after her three younger siblings is a lot of responsibility.

When Mum goes off on holiday with her new boyfriend and her stepdad fails to show up, Lily is determined to keep the family together and show they can cope without any grown-ups. But taking care of 6-year-old twins, her 3-year-old sister and the family's flat feels overwhelming and Lily is worried that school or social services might discover their situation and break up the family. What could be better than to take all the little ones for a camping adventure in the park? Plenty of space to run about, no carpet to vacuum, and surely no chance anyone will guess they're there . . .

This book is amazing. The author takes us on an adventure with Lily a mature pre-teen with her siblings who have to go live in a park. All alone. Sometimes Lily gets overwhelmed and it demonstrates the struggles that kids go through. However she stays strong. I like the characters in this book because they are quirky and funny.

I loved this story!  It is one of my favourite books! I like the bit when Lily sets up a little school for Baxter, Pixie, and Bliss and they have to do counting with Smarties! Lily is my favourite character. I don't like the bit at the end because it's really sad. I don't like Lily's mum's previous husband because he didn't bother to look after Lily and her siblings when their mother went on holiday.

I would give this book infinity stars if it was possible. I like that Jacqueline wilson writes about family problems that could actually be happening. My favourite character was Lily and I liked that her and her little (annoying) siblings took the food that people left behind and camped out in the park. I cant believe that Lily would take on such a challenge! she didn't seem the right kind of person to take on that task and responsibility. I loved the twins Bliss and Baxter because they were cute but also very very cheeky. If I were Lily then I would just tell my siblings to flatten the tyres on the car so that the mum couldn't go away. or maybe jump on the car just as she was driving away so that we would go with her! This book was one of the best Jacqueline wilson books that I have ever read.

Lilly is my favourite character because she is happy and confident. At the start Lilly really wants to be alone but at the end she realizes looking after her brothers and sisters she cant do it alone. This is a magical and lovely story I really enjoyed it!

When Lily's mum goes away on holiday with her new boyfriend, she supposedly leaves Lily's brother Baxter's dad in charge of the kids, though he never turns up.

Lily is only eleven and has to be Lilymum as she calls herself when looking after the siblings, Pixie, Bliss and Baxter who are all younger. As they her teacher come knocking getting suspicious when Lily isn't in school for three days and can't see her mum, he grows suspicious and so Lily takes herself and the others to camp out in the local park.

It's very dangerous as they stay there and forage for food whilst trying not to get noticed and even resort to desperate enough measures they have to sneak into someone's house and try to steal food!

As well as that, Bliss climbs a tree and gets into serious trouble as the branch prepares to snap, changing their lives in many ways as their mum turns up, arrested by the police and social workers split Lily from her beloved siblings.

Lily may have day dreamed about living alone when she's older, but she would do anything for her siblings as she does when she's forced into this horrible situation. All about neglect and not coping on her mum's half as she herself wants to just be a kid in some ways and her own idea of fun. It was a gripping read seeing how the children survived as they lived wild in a public park where it is obviously unsafe to stay.

Lily Alone is a book where Lily has to look after her brother and two sisters while her mum is on holiday with her new boyfriend. They find a garden in a park which they call their fairy garden. The story is really sad because Lily and her family have no money and they cannot afford to buy food.  Lily and her brother have to find other ways of getting food for the family while her mum is away. At the end it is really sad because the only person she could trust, her teacher Mr Abbott, decided that he had to tell the authorities. I would recommend this book to readers who love Jacqueline Wilson books.

I loved this book because it is something I would like to do one day and I'm also the youngest in my family and I really wish I had a younger sibling so what Lily did would be my dream.Lily's character is like mine as well. Like most of Jacqueline's characters she loves her brothers and sisters and will do anything for them.

This book was quite good because Lilly just wants to be alone but she only saids that to herself.because her mum goes out late at night & don’t come back till early morning. So she has to look after her 3 younger siblings & she don’t have a dad as she went of with other men & had children. Then the men would leave her. So in the end Lilly runs away with the siblings.

I liked the list of rules that Lily has to do, as this was funny. Lily was a nice character, I liked everything about her. The story was very nice to read.
I didn't struggle with reading this book, and it is very readable for me.
