Jacqueline Wilson BiographyJacqueline Wilson is a much loved and hugely successful English children’s book author. She was born in Bath in 1945 but grew up in Kingston Upon Thames, not far from London.
Her writing often deals with difficult but essential topics such as divorce, bullying and mental illness and her fans say they really feel she understands the issues that effect them as children.
Jacqueline’s commitment to children and children’s literacy has been recognized on several levels. She was awarded an OBE for services to literacy in 2002, in 2005 she was appointed the fourth Children’s Laureate and in 2008 she became Dame Jacqueline Wilson.
