this is at least our second time round of reading the Daisy books, as one daughter grows out of them, the other grows into them! And they're just as funny the second time round, we love hearing about what escapades Daisy has been up to, and how all of her best laid plans go wrong in such funny ways. In this one, Daisy and her mum go on holiday abroad for the first time, where they meet some cute gatitos (kittens) - Daisy and her holiday friends love playing with them and want to bring them home. Her mum is less keen....

Daisy and her mum are going on holiday to Spain. The trouble is, Daisy has never been on a aeroplane before and is really excited. When she gets there, she makes many new friends at the pool and discovers some furry friends as well. Throughout the holiday, Daisy feeds and looks after the kittens and is dreading meeting her mums new 'friend'. what can possibly go wrong with looking after kittens?

I LOVE Kes Gray's 'Daisy' series. I have read them since I was 6 and adored them straightaway. Daisy always makes me and my mum laugh, when doing crazy, naughty things.

I would recommend this to readers 5+ and also to read all of the books as well.  I still think they are hilarious, all these years later!!!!

This is a good book as Daisy gets money and goes on a fabulous holiday to Spain. Daisy finds some kittens by a bin and spends all of her holiday money on cat food and brings them into her house one night but her mother is allergic to fleas and has an allergic reaction. The author makes this sad situation very funny.  I would recommend this book to boys and girls.

We are big fans of the Daisy series and my daughter loves cats and kittens, so this was always going to be a winner for us! The story is told by seven year old Daisy, her first trip on an aeroplane, making friends by the pool and finding some kittens to look after. Would recommend to 6-9 year olds.

The book is a story about Daisy going on holiday with her Mum and the trouble she gets up to before going on holiday and while she was away.
I liked all about her trip and finding the kittens but I didn't like when they got fleas.
It is a funny book with good length chapters and black and white illustrations.
The Daisy books are good to read, I've read a few and want to read more.

Not really sure what to make of this, we have enjoyed the Daisy picture books but this was the first Daisy chapter book we tried. Daisy and her mum get to go on holiday and it's all very exciting as Daisy has never been abroad before. We go through the preparations and arriving in Spain where Daisy makes some new friends at the pool, plus discovers some kittens. It's all very funny but the ending seems a bit strange, poor Mum is allergic to fleas on the kittens and has a terrible time for the rest of the holiday, I kind of felt it might have been nice to have something go right for her!
