There's a spider in this book. Are you brave enough to take a look? Eric the spider can't understand why people scream and run away from him. He only wants to say hello. But Fluffy the cat wants to eat Eric, so he's hiding. It's up to the reader to find Eric on every spread and maybe finally catch a glimpse of him with the surprise lift the flap ending . . . A funny and engaging story written by internationally bestselling author, Claire Freedman, and brought to life by Mike Byrne's hilarious and colourful illustrations.

This book is big and colourful, definitely eye catching. Aman loved this book as he likes spiders and wanted to find the spider himself on the pages. I think Aman understood part's of this book, rather than all, but he loved it nontheless.

Jonathan really enjoyed this book. He read it aloud to me instead of his school reading book as he couldn't wait to read it when it came through the post today. The book was funny, and the hide-and-seek element in the illustrations added another element of entertainment. The story makes you consider things from a different perspective. The characters were brought to life by bold and colourful illustrations that really jumped off the page and the rhetorical questions and the way Eric the Spider speaks to the reader drew you in further. We'd definitely recommend this book.

My 3 sons aged 6 and under loved this book. They loved finding Eric on each page and they found the story funny. The story follows Erics adventures as he tries to live in peace with Granny and Fluffy the cat, but they don't like spiders so Eric has to find lots of hiding places. The illustrations are colourful and engage young children as there is something to find on each page. This is a fun and engaging story that we will read again.

Normally getting my 4 year old to bed can be a bit of a challenge. However, when I showed him this book I was going to read as a bedtime storey, he couldn't wait.  The book was colourful and bright. He loved finding Eric (the spider) throughout the book. He found it entertaining and funny. I thought the book was great, as it allowed my little one to consider things from a different perspective. Overall a fantastic read.

Eric, the very funny spider tells us what it's like to be the creature that no-one likes.  It really isn't fun and results in lots of chaos being caused.  Where will he be found hiding next?

A beautifully illustrated and fantastic piece of writing come together to create a story that is now almost a nightly feature in our household.  The boys both love spotting Eric and finding new things in the pictures each time they look.  A wonderful talking point to highlight that although humans fear spiders, spiders really just want to be left alone without hurting you.  (Although that doesn't mean I'm letting them stay in our house)!  A perfect bedtime story for both the children and the grown up reading it.

We really enjoyed this book and that it is written from the spider’s perspective and that he gave us intructions to help him

My lo is not keen on spiders in this house but he loved spotting Eric the Spider hiding on each double page...he didn’t like the naughty cat or that the lady used lots of techniques to try to capture Eric (this is why it’s not 5 stars)...he enjoyed helping him try to escape..

Not just for Halloween, this is a super picture book by this great author and fab illustrator.

Leo enjoyed reading this funny, interactive story together. He liked looking for Eric the spider on each page and the lift-the-flap ending. He found some of the pictures and hiding places really funny.
