Oi Duck-billed Platypus!
Author: Kes Gray Illustrator: Jim Field
Initially, Leo didn't enjoy this book as much as the other titles in the Oi! series because he said the rhymes weren't as funny. Each animal has their own special place to sit, apart from those with impossible-to-rhyme-with names... but the Frog has a plan. The colourful illustrations are very funny and Leo loved the joke at the end.

Hocus Pocus Diplodocus (Turquoise Early Reader)
Author: Steve Howson Illustrator: Kate Daubney
Hocus P Diplodocus is not like other dinosaurs - he is the world's first magician and he's getting ready for a special show! Sometimes he makes things disappear by accident but hopefully everything will go well with the show. Leo really enjoyed reading the story with big colourful illustrations. He found the repetition of ATISHOOO very funny.

LEGO: Planets
Author: Scholastic
Leo enjoyed absolutely everything about this book - from the incredible facts and photos to the pages full of minifigure characters! He especially liked the Build it! and Play it! features, with lots of fun ideas for space-themed building and playing. He found the information really interesting to read and learn about.

Read It Yourself With Ladybird: Level 4: Charlie And Lola: IAm
Author: Lauren Child
Charlie and his best friend Marv are trying to invent something for a school project. They are finding hard because all the good inventions have already been invented. Luckily Lola is able to help them with some brilliant ideas of her own. The Read it yourself with Ladybird books feature simple sentences and are clearly leveled for beginner to independent readers. The font is clear to read and the book also features comprehension puzzles, helpful notes and advice. Leo really enjoyed reading the story and answering the questions at the end.

The Dinosaur
Author: Tim Collins Illustrator: James Lawrence
The three short chapters in this book made it really easy and enjoyable for Leo to read by himself. I think this is the fourth title in the series but 'The story so far...' introduction made it easy to pick up without having read the other books first. The main characters Scott and Jess are stuck on Monster Island, looking for a way to escape. The story is a bit gory so may not be the most appropriate for younger or more sensitive children. The black and white illustrations on each page gave it a more grown up feel which Leo liked.
