My mummy read this book to me and my sister. She did different funny voices for all the animals. We both laughed lots. This is my favourite book at the moment. The ending always makes me and my sister giggle and mummy thinks it's really funny!

This lovely book is the latest children's book from author of the famous Gruffalo children's book and illustrator of famous children's book from my younger days, We're Going On A Bear Hunt. Quite a team!

The story is short and beautifully crafted with simple language for children but enough mystery at who the Giant Jumperee is to keep them wanting you to read on!

The drawings are gorgeous and simply show the best work of Helen's talents encouraging children to ask and learn about the animals involved in the story.

As a huge animal fan myself, owning a rabbit, having a frog who lives in our garden, cat's roaming in our street and a love of elephants, personally the drawings were great for me too as the characters are a mix of them plus a bear!

I'm sure any child who loves animals will fall in love with this book and remember it fondly for years too come.

Rabbit is on his way home when he hears a loud voice shout out from his burrow "I am the giant jumperee and I'm as scary as can be!" It gives him quite the fright, and when his friends offer to help them find themselves just as terrified by the Giant Jumperee! Then along comes Mummy frog. Will she manage to scare off the Giant Jumperee?

A lovely book for young children. It has just the right level of scariness, with a surprise ending that is sure to make your child laugh. Beautiful illustrations as always from Helen Oxenbury. A wonderful collaboration between her and Julia Donaldson. Bound to become a children's classic.

Another great book by Julia Donaldson. I enjoy reading her books along with my little one to discover the ending and also find them entertaining. Unlike most of Julia's books, this one only rhymes in part but still flows nicely and I enjoyed reading it aloud. This story is cute as all the animals are frightened by the giant jumperee in the rabbits burrow, yet none of them know who is hiding in there. Luckily the Mummy Frog wasn't scared and they soon find out who was hiding there, much to their amusement.

My children and I are big fans of Julia Donaldson's writing and this book is pure magic with well know illustrationist pictures.
It's an easy story about a rabbit who is scared of the mysterious creature called Giant Jumperee in his burrow. Who is that giant Jumperre ?
It's a fantastic story  with rhymic sentences. we made a story sack with some wooden animals and my children adore them and want to read the story every time.

My daughter loved this newest book from Julia Donaldson. It was great to play the different characters with her- she was the jumperee!! It's the perfect book for putting on different voices for the different animals. We really enjoyed the ending.

Lovely picture book.. Small cast of 6 animals wonderfully illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.
The Giant Jumperee is a beautiful picture book with a simple story supported by wonderful images of its cast of 6 animals.
The story shows animals of increasing sizes, each with characteristics its pre-school target audience will recognise, in fear of the unseen creature which is claiming to be a giant Jumperee. Like Aesop’s lion and mouse or hare and tortoise, there is a realisation that every creature, no matter what its size, has its own strengths. Also, much as in Julia Donaldson’s own Gruffalo, there is a sense that fear of the unknown can be out of proportion with what the unknown actually is!
This book doesn’t draw on Julia’s often-seen rhyming talents, but that in no way stops it from being a great read-aloud book which children will be joining in with after a few readings. And Helen Oxenbury's lovely illustrations are captivating.

Written and illustrated by two very talented people, we knew that this book would be a good one.

Julia Donaldson has competed a book that is fun, engaging and has the right pinch of scarieness for toddlers and up.

The story is based on someone claiming to be very scary hiding in Rabbit's burrow. They declare them self as "The giant Jumparee." (A clever play on words).

Rabbit's fellow friends attempt to help their friend out but they get a little scared by the voice they hear in the burrow too. It doesn't matter how large the animal is that voice knows exactly what to say to deter the animals from staying.

This book has stunning, watercolour like illustrations with a use of a beautiful colour palette.

The book has a traditional story feel to it once it is in your hands and both my daughters absolutely loved it. The repetitive text allows children to be excited and makes the story even more memorable.

A lovely read with a funny surprise at the end.

A beautiful story by master storyteller Julia Donaldson. The story had many similarities to Julia Donaldson's bestseller, The Gruffalo. The Giant Jumperee is hiding in rabbits burrow, and knows all of the animal's worst fears. But Mother Frog can't be fooled! I read it to my son, Raashid, and he loved it! A hilarious story, with funny and cute animals. I would definitely recommend it.

Leo really enjoyed Julia Donaldson's latest book, which is about fear and bravery. Rabbit and each of his friends were scared away by the voice of the Giant Jumperee, until someone bravely went to discover who was inside the burrow. Leo found it very funny when Elephant said that he would wrap his trunk around him and toss him away - before running for help. We loved the story and it's perfect for reading with fun character voices!

Nice book about Chinese Whispers and exaggeration! I thought it was wonderful, but it didn't hold my daughters attention as I thought it would. Nice illustrations - hopefully she'll grow in to it!

We love the illustrations of the animals in this book - nature is always a big hit with us.  The concept is also really good but my 2 year old got bored with the repetition.  We do still use the book but usually to name the animals or make up our own version
