    Helen Oxenbury is one of the world's most popular children's picture book illustrators. Her work includes the bestselling classic We're Going On A Bear Hunt and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. She is a two-time winner and four-time runner up for the annual Kate Greenaway Medal, the British librarians' award for illustration.

    Born on 2 June 1938, Helen Oxenbury was raised in Ipswich where she developed a love for drawing from a very early age. She attended the Ipswich School of Art before studying Theatre Design at the Central School of Art in London. Prior to becoming a children's book illustrator, Helen had a career working in theatre, film and television.
