Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in glorious full colour.
Mr Willy Wonka is the most extraordinary chocolate maker in the world.
And do you know who Charlie is? Charlie Bucket is the hero. The other children in this book are nasty little beasts, called: Augustus Gloop - a great big greedy nincompoop; Veruca Salt - a spoiled brat; Violet Beauregarde - a repulsive little gum-chewer; Mike Teavee - a boy who only watches television.
Clutching their Golden Tickets, they arrive at Wonka's chocolate factory. But what mysterious secrets will they discover?
Our tour is about to begin. Please don't wander off. Mr Wonka wouldn't like to lose any of you at this stage of the proceedings . . . Listen to CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry - plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios! Look out for new Roald Dahl apps in the App store and Google Play- including the disgusting TWIT OR MISS! inspired by the revolting Twits.

Classic favourite of mine when growing up
And decided I wanted to read it to both my boys. Both have enjoyed it and humour helped this. Classsic Ronald Dahl as had the ability to transport kids off to another world..... not dated!! Hoping they will come back to it to read themselves.

Charlie Bucket is one of five children that have won the opportunity to discover the secrets and magic inside Willy Wonka's extraordinary Chocolate Factory. The thirty short chapters made it easy to read together and struck a great balance between colourful pages of text and brightly-coloured illustrations. These editions are ideal for younger children that are becoming interested in longer stories but still enjoy picture books. Leo was fascinated by all of the characters and their adventures through the factory.

I have loved this book since childhood.  I read it to both my sons at bedtime and since then they have both read it on their own as well.   As is expected from Roald Dahl it has a lot of dark humour that appeals to children!!  Throughly recommend this story for both bedtime stories and for self reading.

I liked this book because it was funny and Ronald Dahl is my favourite author. My favourite part of this book was when the children was took away by all the things in the enclosure and I like it when the oompalumpas sing a happy song that someone has gone.
