A brilliant addition to the Happy Families series of books. I loved the series as a child and now I really enjoy reading them to my four year old twin girls. My girls and I love the humour and eventual redemption of the naughty crooked Creep family. The moral of 'crime doesn't pay' and that it is nice to be, well, nice is never too preachy. The illustrations are wonderful and full of humour and the story is just charming. A great read that I highly recommend

My daughter loves this series of books. The illustrations are great, with lots of details to spot. The stories are always fun to read.

A firm favourite in this house. My children love this story and how other characters from other Happy Families books appear. My son especially loves the illustration of Mr Crooks escape plan.
I remember these books from when I was little so it's magical to read them to my own children.

Leo likes books about police and bad guys. Whilst he did enjoy this book and found it funny, the story didn't initially capture his interest. It may be better suited to slightly older school age children. He liked joining in with the Funnybones-style repetition of 'Mr Creep the crook...' and looking at the nearly fool-proof plans. He wants to read some of the other Happy Families titles so he'll probably enjoy them more and more as he keeps reading them.

My little boy has got really into this story and is fascinated by the Creeps, especially why they choose to go back to jail! We love the illustrations and also that the Creep family become good, when they escape things go wrong so they decide to become good to get out and it works. Nice message for children.
