Book pages The Enormous Crocodile (Colour Edition)
The Enormous Crocodile (Colour Edition)
I read it to eric_ aged 5
A great book to read for a 5 year old that is passed the stage of just smaller picture books. This one doesn't have chapter but the reading flows so easily and the illustrations are great! Love how the crocodile claims to be smart to all the other animals and he actually has some clever ideas, but the other animals all save the kids from the crocodile. A very fun story and easy for younger kids to understand as well. They might get a bit scared of the crocodile but in my case, my son actually was cheering for the crocodile!

Book pages Cardboard Box Creations
Cardboard Box Creations
I read it to eric_ aged 5
This is a different type of book: it has various interesting and beautiful creations with cardboard boxes and as soon as I saw it I loved it because it even came with some cardboard pieces. Being by Lonely planet, they've nicely choosen very international and some travel related ideas, but not only limited to that, such as the Big Ben, a pyramid, Chinese Dragon and so on. My son wanted to make something that used the pieces that already came with it so we choose the Carnival Mask, which has various pieces to paint and then glue together. However besides this, most of the other pieces are more for the details of the creations, like some characters for a shadow teathre. Besides these you'll mainly need either shoe boxes or lots of very large boxes, since most of the ideas are kids size, not smaller creations. These will be harder for us to come by, but perfect for parents that have just moved houses or are buying various big appliances. Until we get some huge boxes, we'll next try the camera, the ones that require shoe boxes (suitcase, theatre and aquarium), tube rolls (didgeridoo) or a spider that needs a square tissue box.
