The Boy Who Flew
Author: Fleur Hitchcock
I really enjoyed this book trying to work out the mystery and who had murdered Mr Chen.  Athan is a really hardworking clever boy who is trying to do the right thing to help his family even though lots of things go wrong along the way.  I liked the way the book had lots of twists that kept you guessing to the end who was involved.

Armistice Runner
Author: Tom Palmer
This book was brilliant for me as I enjoy running like Lily.  She loves running but is struggling to beat one of her rivals.  On a trip to visit her Gran who is ill she finds out about her relation who was also a runner but stopped after returning from WWI.  I enjoyed learning about Ernest and his story as I have been learning about the world wars at school.  I love Tom Palmer as an author he has visited my school and he was really interesting.

The Lost Diary of Sami Star
Author: Karen McCombie Illustrator: Katie Kear
I thought this book was brilliant once I started it I couldn't put it down.  I could really relate to the characters as they were a similar age to me.  I liked Hannah as she was really kind and wanted to get the diary back to Sami.  The ending was lovely.

Nevermoor: Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow Book 1
Author: Jessica Townsend
This is a brilliant book it is a little sad at first as Morrigan's family aren't kind to her.  BUt once she meets Jupiter and travels to the hidden realm everything changes for her.  I loved this book as it reminded me of Harry Potter learning about a new world.  I can't wait to read the next book.

The City of Guardian Stones
Author: Jacob Sager Weinstein
This is the second book in the series and we were gripped from the start we couldn't put it down.  It is another great mystery adventure set around London using famous landmarks from across the city.  We love Hyacinth and her friends Little Ben and Oarborious the Pig as they try to save London again from strong magical powers.
