I found this book is aimed more at girls than boys from the cover and how it talks about periods. I would not feel comfortable buying this book with this cover. I would say it is best suited to people older than eleven as it talks about GCSE revision and stress. However, if you want help with family, understanding different peoples lives and problems like your own, Katie explains it really well.

I had heard lots of positive reviews about 'Dear Katie' on Twitter and I thought it would be an ideal problem guide for my 12 year old daughter. Featuring a huge range of topics from teenage crushes, falling out with friends, being unhappy with how you look and worrying about your sexuality. It tackles real life reader issues that have been raised sensibly and warmly in a way that will really appeal to teen readers. Katie gives out sound advice with the help of experts to ensure a balanced view. Definitely one to buy and give to your child to use as and when they need it. Also includes notes sections giving it an informal journal feel that children could use to write down how they are feeling.

I liked this book because it helps girls with some problems.  It was set out like someone writing to her and then Katie answering the letter.  There were lots of interesting topics in it some that I could relate to now and some for the future.  I would recommend this book for girls only

I read this before I decided whether it was appropriate for my daughter. I thought it was suitable for older children so didn't let my daughter read it, but would definitely depend on your child. If you're not sure then definitely flick through it first. Good style though, talking through different problems.

This isn't a book you can read in one sitting, you have to dip in and out. I like that this book is helping kids like me and that this problem advice can help readers. I go to my mum if i have any worries but i go to seniors soon so this book will probably really help me then.
