'HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!' Frank Cottrell Boyce
'Hilarious' Tim Minchin
'Danny Wallace and Jamie Littler's books contain all the wit and warmth of Dahl and Blake at their best. Irresistible.' Phil Earle
'Like David Walliams, Danny Wallace is a comedian turned children's author. Of the two, Wallace's writing is funnier' The Sunday Times , Children's Book of the Week

Another hilarious adventure from bestselling author Danny Wallace brought to life with illustrations from Jamie Littler, perfect for fans of David Walliams, Roald Dahl, David Baddiel and David Solomons!

This may look like just a completely and utterly ordinary book. But it's not. This book knows something terrifying: that the people of Earth face their gravest, grimmest threat yet!

When Hamish finds his mum and his brother floating ON THE CEILING , he knows there's something seriously wrong (again) in the town of Starkley. What is the strange burping noise he keeps hearing? Why are weird seeds suddenly falling from the sky? And should he be worried about the odd woman with a cone around her neck?

All Hamish and his gang the PDF can be sure of is that an adventure is coming. And that means two things:

  1. You have to be prepared
  2. You have to prepare a sandwich

We had a lot of giggles reading this book together. It's a wacky story about Hamish and his gang (the PDF) who need to save the town from the "Superiors". My son loved the jokes and the illustrations.

We loved this book the story is funny and really imaginative.  My two children loved listening to Hamish and his friends adventures and how they help save the earth from aliens.  There are lots of funny parts to the story and the illustrations bring their adventures to life.  We can't wait to read the other Hamish books now.

I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the title of the book, it is funny and made me want to read it.  The story is about a boy named Hamish and the PDF, who go about saving the town from the superiors.  When the town was having a meeting, it started to rain seeds, because they don't like them they cleaned them up and dumped them in the sea.  The seeds that they missed started to grow into giant flytraps, what will they do find out by reading the book!

Hamish and the gravity burp is an awesome adventure laced with wit and humour to make you fall out of your reading corner with laughter. It has a fascinating pot that twists and turns as you discover what makes the world's 4th most boring town so special. My favourite character was Vinnie the spy trap (but I'm not going to tell you what that is!)

Overall this 3rd installment of Hamish's life in starkly was really, really cool! A great read for all ages

My favourite character is Hamish, the story is centered around him, Hamish is quick thinking, brave and stands up for his crew PDF.

The story is set in present day, its a funny story with mysterious goings on. Hamish and his crew try to stop these during the story. Its easy to read and I wanted to read on.

There are some brilliant pictures and when the book is closed there are Venus fly traps printed on the pages.

It was a very welcome return to the Hamish series for my sons and I - we are big fans of this Danny Wallace series. These books are always brilliantly comic and entertaining, wacky and full of adventure and suspense. As an adult reading this to one of my younger sons, there were times when I helplessly burst out in giggles from Wallace's fab sense of humour.

Hamish knows something is definately wrong in Starkely when he finds his mum and his brother lying flat on their backs on the ceiling of their home. Hamish and his gang - the PDF - immediately start work on finding out what on EARTH is going on in Starkley and plan to protect the world against the unseen dangers.

My eldest son (8) loves this series and consumed the book in hours. It's taken a little bit longer to cover it reading it to my 5 year old, but he has also very much enjoyed the story. Jamie Littler's incredibly illustrations also helped to keep the interest of my 5 year old throughout the book.

We would recommend this book for girls and boys alike. All ages can enjoy the story, but for free readers probably best suited to age 7 and up.

Not really suitable at the moment for my son. (I was a bit surprised about this. ) Certain aspects would appeal to him and I think he would find it terribly funny and like ( in a way) even the Terribles/Superiors (The monsters Hamish is fighting against in this book.) However, some of it would have gone over his head. I feel a bit uncomfortable about the Nuclear Balls and power being introduced. Perhaps over thinking things a little. I think it is better for a slightly older audience than those who have just become fans of the Roald Dahl or even David Walliams books.

I really enjoyed the book, at first I thought it was quite boring, but once it began to rain seeds and the Venus Spytraps began to grow, it became much more interesting.
I liked all the characters in this story, especially Hamish and his Dad.  The 'Superiors' were scary and well described.  The build up of the story was well written and had me gripped.

The pictures were good and made the book more interesting as did the different font that was used. I would like to read another one in the series.

This is a really funny book that I loved!  I could read it over and over again.  It was easy to read and I laughed out loud lots!  Although a bit silly in places the story is great, I couldn't put it down.   I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Hamish and the gravity burp is really funny.  I read the first book in the series Hamish and the world stoppers and this book was definatly as good as that.  I haven't seen book two yet.

Hamish and his friends (the PDF) have to save everyone from the Superiors and have lots of fun on the way.  This book is really funny and has fantastic illustrations.  I like the print on the pages when the book is closed to.
