Stellaluna
Author: Janell Cannon
This book was recommended by a friend and at first when it arrived I was initially disappointed with the illustrations. They are very 'real' and quite dark. But as we read the book, the story is so beautiful and enchanting, the pictures blend in so well. The story is of Little Stellaluna who gets lost from her Mother Bat (quite emotional part of the story) but then, luckily finds some birds to live with. As a bat, she has to fit in with the birds, eating bugs and sleeping the correct way up. The ending is fantastic too. Definitely 5 stars.

Alan's Big, Scary Teeth
Author: Jarvis Illustrator: Jarvis
A bright, colourful book that tells a moral story of being kind to others in a fun way. My daughter was a little apprehensive at first, but as the story developed she laughed and laughed at Alan!

The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch (40th Anniversary Ed ition)
Author: Ronda Armitage Illustrator: David Armitage
A lovely book about the naughty seagulls stealing food from the light house keeper. The children in my class thought the trick sandwiches were very funny.

Tiddler
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
We love Julia Donaldson books and this one is no exception. The story is fun, with a bit of suspense and a happy ending. THe illustrations are great too.

More Ketchup Please
Author: Adam Bestwick Illustrator: Adam Bestwick
The story flows quite well and my 4 year old thought it was very funny. But as a parent trying to stop having ketchup with every meal, it doesn't send a good message. I would have prefered a healthier ending too.
