A story about perseverance, sharing and friendship by the author of Dinosaurs After Dark, and brilliantly illustrated by Nathan Reed.
He's made a car for Ralph and a boat for Alice. But when Winston tries to construct something really BIG he realises that he can't do everything by himself. Then, with help from Ralph (who is best at carrying large bits and pieces) and Alice (who is best at finding small bits and pieces), he discovers that putting things together...together...is what friends do best!

A colourfully illustrated book about Winston who realises that he does need friends to help him with his biggest project yet.  A good undertone of understanding that sometimes if you work as a team you can make things so much better and quicker with everyone working to their individual strengths.

This bright picture book is the story of Winston and his friends. Building is what Winston does best: he undertakes his biggest project yet and needs some help - but doesn't take it because he thinks he doesn't need it (as "building is what he does best".) Eventually he realises he can't complete his project alone and accepts the help of his friends - and what they can do best. They manage to complete the project together.

It's a lovely story that demonstrates for all we have our own talents, we sometimes still need the help of others and their talents to achieve what we want.

The illustrations are bold and colourful; my toddlers really enjoy them. My children really enjoy all the builds - especially the final rocket. The fact the characters are animals really engages them.

The text is simple and there is generally only a few lines per page so it's only a 5/ 10 minutes read. It's definitely worth a read.
