The Light Jar
Author: Lisa Thompson
I read this to my 10 year old daughter. Wow we couldn't put it down. We thought the book was quite emotional. Always trying to second guess what was going to happen.
The story covers lots of things to talk about. Especially the separation of a family, behaviour between partners and of course imaginary friends.
The story is about a Mum and a Son and how and where they escape to when they leave Mum's partner Gary. Unfortunately Mum disappears after leaving a tumbledown cottage for food. Nate then has a visitor from an old imaginary friend. Nate goes on to meet a girl in the woods. But not is as it seems.
Such a wonderfully written story.

Finding Gobi (Younger Readers edition): The True Story of One Little Dog's Big Journey
Author: Dion Leonard
I loved this book. Such a great story as it was based on true events. Its was about how a runner and a stray dog formed a fantastic friendship. Truly great to read. Highly recommend. Loved the coloured pictures in the middle.

The Great Cat Cafe Rescue
Author: Katrina Charman Illustrator: Lucy Truman
This is the second book of Poppy's Place that I have read. Very easy to read with a great plot. All about the love of cats and how Isla helps homeless cats get adopted but with lots of trouble along the way.
Great characters and I can wait to read the next one.
