this book is SO interesting (and I'm not being sarcastic) there is so much to know! I loved going through all of the facts and sections. I think my favourite page was the bit with the weird castle. I can't believe how much there is to know about one little (or big) thing! I will definitely be re-reading this soon. I would recommend this book to all of my friends and family.

This book has been a total hit for my 9 year old Son.  Very eyecatching, contains lots of interesting facts about places around the world which fascinates my Son, well illustrated with colourful pictures/photographs.  The text is broken up into short paragraphs, so the reader doesn't get overwhelmed by information.

Fabulous book, five star rating.

My 7 year old son absolutely loves this book. It's full of fantastic facts and information about different places and buildings around the world. My son is a fan of factual books such as the guiness book of records and this book was perfect for him as it had a similar feel. It was also very well illustrated with each page full of photos and colour. Even my younger 5 year old son was fixated by it. Great book and would highly recommend.

This book is about lots of interesting facts about weird buildings and places. It has lots of photos and information about all sorts of places.

One of my favourite sections is 'The good life' section because it has a really good page about the best sweet factories.
I also liked the pages about huge rollercoasters.

I would recommend it to everyone. Its really visual and has lots of information. Its suitable for children age 6 plus I think because you could read it with a parent.

Its a lovely book which I got as a give away here on Toppsta and I am very pleased with it (thanks)

This is a lovely book and an enjoyable read for children and adults alike. The layout is well thought out and holds your attention and the different sections in the book hold diverse facts to suit all interests. I gave this to my 11 year old grandson to read and he was immediately immersed into 'Dangerous Places', hopefully this isn't going to ignite an interest we regret!

Before we gave this to Caynin my hubby and I went through it as we are avid travellers and love seeing new places and reading up on them beforehand. We discovered some new places to visit and also things about places we had been to that we had not known! I would highly recommend this book for older kids with a keen interest for different facts.

We ALL love this book!
Caitlin has done nothing but provide us with useful facts from the book. I have loved immersing myself in it to find out more about places I have been to, and to look forward to seeing some of the places on future travels. Georgie and Leo love looking at the pictures and being told what they are.
It is another Lonely Planet triumph, in our opinions.
I think that we could read this book a thousand times and still come away with something new.

This is such an amazing book. It's full of pages that had me and my husband fascinated by all the facts from around the world! Firstly the book is distinctive, each double page spread is eye catching, but not full on. The facts are well placed across the pages, with information easy to read- and above all really interesting!
There are 8 sections, for example 'stupendous structures', 'hi-tech' and 'dangerous places'. Each section turn has 8 double page spreads, we particularly loved 'secrets of the palace' about Buckingham Palace, 'Sistine chapel:art upside down' -we want to visit there now!, and 'Lizzie Borden's haunted house' .
I would say that although the book could be read by 8 year olds, some of the content is a bit scary, the 'Fright Night' section may be problematic for a child of a more sensitive nature, so I'd recommend this book for a year 5/6 child and into secondary school.
Overall it's brilliant, fact packed and really, really interesting!
