This is another fantastic book from the Lonely Planets kids series.  A sturdy hardback book, it includes facts and fun information about 86 famous cities.  Each city has two pages dedicated to it, and there is a mix of photographs, drawings, maps and text used to present details.  The information is quite detailed, so I would say this book is aimed at older primary school aged children.  It is a great resource for supporting school work and general interests. We got this at Halloween, so the first section we looked at was Oaxaca City in Mexico to find out more about the Day of the Dead.  My elder son took this off to bed to have a look through and read to himself, and he immersed himself in the book until it was time to sleep.

A great book for curious minds, which allows you to travel the world from the comfort of your own home!  Highly recommended.

Much like the Lonely Planet Travel Book that we won last year, we love this book.
We love to travel and have been to many of the cities in this book. It is full of interesting information and facts and trivia as well as lots of photos.
I love reading it and the kids haven't yet had too much of a look-in! This is going to be a family book for years to come as visit more places and use it for school projects

I really liked the book because it gives you loads of fantastic information about the cities that are in it.So far the fact that I found most interesting was that people from Rotorua bathe in mud from an active volcano.
I think that the book could be improved by ...nothing.

Jason won this & it is great for looking at cities in countries of the world for a quick cultural reference.  If you have a child in KS1 or KS2 and need a few facts about a city it is perfect.  Also has a lot of cities I would not have thought to look for.
My son is 8 & I have found him telling fun facts to Grandma about Paris and Agadir.

This book is great it's full many different cities which have a two page spread of pictures and lots of information . I enjoy learning about new places and finding out fun facts about them. This book will be ideal for me for school when we do more on other cities . It's a larger book than normal but I like it as means more information in it. It's also hardback which I like. My sisters will also be able to use this when they get abit bigger and need it for school

The Cities book is something you should have because if you are visiting loads of different countries the book will tell you what you need to know, or if your homework needs the answers to what is the capital of Russia or China, or another country then this book has the answers.  When I looked at it I found countries that I didn't even know existed such as Copenhagen, Stockholm of Tromso and guess what they are all right next door to each other!  I will get an awful lot of information from this book, so I am going to keep reading and looking at it.  There are a lot of colourful pictures in it to interest you.  I really like it.

This book is a great, colourful fact full book.  It is a nice hardback book about the cities of the world.  It has chosen a good variety of cities and each page is dedicated to a city, so it is laid out with lots of colour and pictures with short facts and interesting things about the city.  Each page has a mini map so you can see exactly where the city is in the world.  This book can be picked up and dipped in and out of.  I would say it is for children aged between 4 and 14 as it can just be looked at by younger readers and read fully by older readers.  It is a great journey across the world and would inspire any child to want to go and visit many of these places.
