The Baby Brother From Outer Space! World Book Day 2018
Author: Pamela Butchart Illustrator: Thomas Flintham
My 7yo loved this - totally engaged and absorbed - read it in two days and actually cried when he finished it because he didn't want it to end!  We'll be going to the library to find more books by this author.  He's said he will write to them to tell them how much he enjoyed it!

Rainbow Fish And The Big Blue Whale
Author: Marcus Pfister
A beautifully illustrated tale of friendship, through misunderstanding to being kind and making friends again.  My eldest enjoyed reading to his little sister.

Swashbuckle Lil and the Jewel Thief
Author: Elli Woollard Illustrator: Laura Ellen Anderson
I enjoyed the story.  At first I didn't realise it rhymed/the verses were poems but Mum read a couple of verses and then I could do it too.  The writing style was fun and I liked the rhythm of the words.  The pictures we really good too.  I could imagine the story in my head.  I would like to read more of them.  A really good book thank you!

Let's Explore... Ocean
Authors: Lonely Planet , Jen Feroze Illustrator: Pippa Curnick
A bright and colourful book with lots to learn and activities to complete - great for a rainy day!  My son is really into creatures that live under the sea so the timing was ideal.  My daughter will also be doing a project about sea creatures soon so she may well borrow it for inspiration!  A good quality book which is inviting and engaging

Fantastic Mr Fox (Colour Edn)
Author: Roald Dahl Illustrator: Quentin Blake
After the BFG and The Twits my 6yo was inspired to read more Dahl - Mr Fox doesn't disappoint as he sneakily outwits the farmers who think they're being so clever in trying to catch him for stealing their birds!  A great book to read or be read to!  A shorter book compared to some of the others but filled with drama all the same.
