Busy Halloween
Author: Louise Forshaw Illustrator: Louise Forshaw
My 5 year old daughter read this to her baby sister.
It’s a bright and colourful book with so much to look at. My daughter thought all the moving parts were great. I think it’s a great book. Perfect for Halloween

The Giant Jumperee
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Helen Oxenbury
We have read this book twice since receiving it. I read it first and then caitlin read it a week later on her own.

The illustrations are gorgeous and go really well with the story.

Caitlin found this book exciting and funny when we got to the end. Another great book by a fantastic author.

We loved the story, it was great to see friends helping each other out and it was sweet when we found out who the giant jumperee was.

Highly recommend

The Princess in Black Takes a Holiday
Authors: Dean Hale , Shannon Hale Illustrator: LeUyen Pham
The series is new to us but I can see my daughter wanting to know what other adventures the princess in black gets up to.

It’s perfect for my daughter to try and read parts. She loved the big bold words and enjoyed doing the roaring sounds for the monster.

The short chapters were great as it meant we could read a couple each night when I put my daughter to bed. This made it exciting to find out what happened next.

Lovely illustrations with lots to look at. The goat avenger looked great.

My daughters favourite part was when the princess in black fought  the sea dragon.

Bear and Hare: Where's Bear?
Author: Emily Gravett
A great story about 2 friends playing hide and seek. Such a good book for an early reader to read. The words are easy to sound out and the illustrations are funny and make the story.

Mariella, Queen of the Skies
Author: Eoin Colfer Illustrator: Katy Halford
I read this book to my 5 year old daughter and asked her what she wanted to say about it.

Her favourite part was when Harrison (baby brother) asked Mariella to make a forever lasting lollipop. She said she didn’t like it when Mum said she didn’t want to hear that Mariella was inventing.

She thought the pictures were great, she really liked the one of Mariella sleeping on a cloud.
The part of Mariella making friends made her smile.

I found it stop started a lot and to me didn’t seem like a story. It was very cheeky that Mariella didn’t want to go to sleep. Like lost little boys and girls her age I’m sure.
The illustrations are very sweet and interesting, they help tell the story.
However it was a good book for my daughter to try to read herself. And the facts at the beginning were really interesting. And my daughter loves the spot the difference at the end
