The Night Before the Night Before Christmas
Author: Kes Gray Illustrator: Claire Powell
This is such a beautifully illustrated book. We really enjoyed reading this story and enjoyed the rhyming throughout. I did expect it to be funnier as we are big fans of Kes Grey books and find the oi! range hilarious. It was still enjoyable and definitely one to add to your Christmas collection to get into the Christmas spirit!

Elmer's Walk
Author: David McKee
Elmer is such a lovely character but it felt quite sad reading through story as no one had any time for Elmer. I hoped that they would realise that they should stop and give Elmer some time but never did! That being said it was lovely that Elmer found his cousin to watch the stars with! My son enjoyed the story and the illustrations are beautiful in keeping with the bright and colourful Elmer.

I'm Starting School: First Day: Wipe-clean book with pen
Author: Pat-a-Cake Illustrator: Becky Down
My son is such a fan of the dry erase books. I don't think he sees them as learning but more as an activity to do, so it makes learning things fun for him. My son is 3 and at preschool and this book is great and I can see him getting alot from it in the run up to starting school. I think this is a fab book as it's not just about learning numbers, letters and shapes but prepares him for what being at school will be like. I think that some of the words to write would be better being a little bigger for little ones.

The Highway Rat
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
We loved this book. It's another great story in the range of books from Julia Donaldson . It was a funny and entertaining story that my son and I really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend!

You Can't Take An Elephant On the Bus
Author: Patricia Cleveland-Peck Illustrator: David Tazzyman
I was really expecting this book to be funny and to keep the attention of my 3 year old but it was quite disappointing. I found that it wasn't really a book that flowed it just jumped to something different on each page. It does try to use rhyming words but I do feel that they should have made them funnier for children.
