Interstellar Cinderella
Author: Deborah Underwood
I have such mixed feelings about this book!  The pictures are fab and the story and rhymes are brilliant BUT on 2 occasions it completely jumps with very little explanation!  It’s a fun, modern take on a well known story and a refreshing change to fairytales where the heroine ends of marrying a prince she barely knows.  It’s not perfect but it is enjoyable.

That's Not My Reindeer
Author: Fiona Watt Illustrator: Rachel Wells
Another lovely book in the series.  Interactive and fun, both kids have loved it. We’ve had it for 5 years now and we still enjoy it at Christmassc

The Purrfect Pawse: A little book to help children pause, stretch and be grateful
Author: Avril McDonald Illustrator: Tatiana Minina
This is a sweet book but to be completely honest my kids weren’t particularly interested in it.  They read it once and that was it, but they did seem to enjoy it that time!  I’ve come across similar books which are more attractive and more engaging, but I’m sure other children will enjoy it.  Just maybe not one for us!

The Christmasaurus
Author: Tom Fletcher
Beautiful, emotional and tender book which I have loved reading to my son (and he has loved it too!)  It is very sad in places so might not be suitable for very sensitive children - my son was in tears at one point - but it is dealt with with real sensitivity and opens up conversations for you to have with your child.  It's a fun, engaging and new christmas story, which insludes a dinosaur - perfect!!!  The pictures are lovely and there's lots of scope for silly voices and singing.  As a chapter book we read 1 or 2 chapters a night, which has been managable.  My son has loved it!

Fingerprint Activities
Author: Fiona Watt Illustrator: Erica Harrison
Lovely interactive book which my 5yr old loves. It is messy but less so than painting!!  Lots of different coloured ink pads which last very well (although the colours do get a bit mixed up). Lots of ideas for making fingerprints into animals, which can then be used elsewhere and not just in the book.  Highly recommended.
