What a beautiful adaptation to a much loved children's book. I love the adventure and excitement of this book. The anticipation that children feel never gets old even though they know what to expect. I read this recently to my three year old nephew and he now has it for bedtime most nights. He absolutely adores this book. Especially because he can retell it and join in with the story. It's a perfect book for introducing reading and rhyme to toddlers and small children, especially with the touch and feel sections as they entice them in and make them engaged throughout. I love the sense of surprise on his face when we get to his favourite part which is; 'Oh Help! Oh no! It's a Gruffalo...but Shhh...he's fast asleep." He whispers at this part and then snaps the book shut as quickly as he possibly can, so the Gruffalo doesn't wake up and escape. The animated expression on his face as he gasps and then giggles because he's won is priceless. I've recommended this book to a few of my friends already and would definitely use this book in future. Julia Donaldson books are so family orientated it is perfect for storytime, even if it means reading it every single storytime, it never gets old.
My nephew tells everyone about this book and always says it is his favourite because he loves the Gruffalo. It has definitely been one of the books to win him over when it comes to enjoying reading.

Good sized board book for younger children (my daughter's just turned 3 and we've put it away in our loft rather than get rid of it.....).
Nice and tactile - gruffalo fur, a green slimy nose etc..
And its size makes it great for tracing large pictures of the gruffalo for colouring / craft projects.

We have had this book for over a year now, I brought it to introduce my son to the gruffalo and he loved this book.
It's a good sized board book with descriptions and a touchy feely part to match the description.
My son now has the Gruffalo story read to him but we still love getting this book out too, it's a fab book especially has he has speech delay and the language is simple.

I didn't think the Gruffalo could get any better.....until I found this!! It brings a new dimension to the much loved story and my younger one found it more exciting having something to interact with. A hugely loved story anyway but the touch and feel aspect is brilliant.

As Gruffalo fans we loved this book. It's a good sized board book that is colourful and attractive to the eye. The 14 month old I bought this book for enjoyed looking at the pages and the different textures for him to touch and feel as we read through the book. We both loved it!
