A hilarious new series from best-selling author, Barry Hutchison, perfect for fans of Tom Gates, Wimpy Kid and Barry Loser.
"I like to smell my own farts..." Gah! Someone shut me up!
It's been 92 hours since Beaky last told a lie. So far he's survived two full days of school with only three light beatings, two telling-offs and one wedgie ... but the annual school trip is going to take Beaky's survival skills to a whole other level - especially as a mix up in the school office means that Beaky and his class are on a trip to Learning Land, an educational theme park aimed at eight-year-olds. And home to cheery-but-creepy Clumso the Clued-up Clown whose job is to dish out fascinating facts to one and all.
But there is worse to come when Beaky's partnered with Wayne, a.k.a the school bully, who has a morbid fear of clowns. With Beaky unable to tell a lie and Wayne intent on beating him up, things aren't looking good. And that's before they find themselves on the run from a manic clown who'll seemingly stop at nothing to track them down...

This book is really funny. I read the first one and enjoyed though I don't think you have to read them in order to enjoy this book.

Its easy to read full of funny bits and I enjoyed it a lot.

Those who like Wimpy Kid, Tom Gates and Diary of Norm are sure to like these books

I loved this book. It was really funny all the way through. I won it and it arrived just after I had finished reading another book so it was perfect timing.

This book is about a boy called Dylan Malone. He is very excited because he thinks that he is going on a school trip to Thrillworld but actually he finds out that his head teacher didn't book the tickets so he and his class had to go on a trip to learning land. Unfortunately, he is partnered up with his enemy Wayne.

A fantastic book, Beaky Malone is unable to lie and finds being taken to the wrong school trip to Learning Land (no fun) but partnered with the school bully Wayne. This very amusing story really appealed to my 8 year daughter and we couldn't stop reading it.

I would definitely read more by this author and recommend this book for others to read.

I really enjoyed this book, and thought it was very funny. I read it independently, and I didn't want to stop reading it as it was so good. There were black and white illustrations throughout the book, but it would have been just as good without them, as the story itself was so good. I didn't really pay that much attention to the illustrations. The main character, Beaky was my favourite and he was very funny. I loved the fact that he couldn't lie, even though it did get him into trouble.

Hahahahahaha! Beaky Malone, Worst EVER School Trip.  This follows on the heels of Beaky Malone, World's Greatest Liar...but by the time Beaky goes on his school trip (his worst EVER school trip remember!) he is unable to lie.  Not a single lie. He can't even manage to contain his thoughts and blurts out things that, while true, are probably best left unsaid.  All of which make his days a rollercoaster of comedy for the reader.
I hadn't read the first Beaky Malone book but that really doesn't matter, though if you get the chance to there's no reason I can think of not to read the first!!

This would definitely appeal to fans of Jeremy Strong, Jeff Kinney (Wimpy Kid), Liz Pichon (Tom Gates), Lincoln Pierce (Big Nate).
I left it in the capable hands of Tara in Year 5 to review further and this is what she had to say:

"Definitely 5 stars.  It was extremely funny and I really enjoyed reading it.  My favourite bit was when Wayne, the bully, was talking to Chloe his crush about vomiting and when they were running away from Cluzo the Clown."

Beaky Malone was the World's Greatest Liar, until he stepped into Madame Shirley's rusty metal box. It's been 92 hours since he told his last lie, and is finding that honesty is definitely not the best policy, as he also can't keep the truth in.

In this, Beaky's second outing, we see him head off on a class trip to the worst theme park in the world. Ever. When he is partnered up with the class bully, Wayne, his day can't get any worse, can it? Oh yes it can, and does, when they come face to face with Wayne's Primary School living nightmare, Clumso the Clown...

Slapstick, dry humour and perfect comedy timing are woven together to create a book above its rivals in this genre. The underlying message of keeping friend's secrets and when to tell the truth comes through without ever detracting from a story.

I will definitely be getting a copy for my bookshelf at school!
Great for fans of Barry Loser, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Horrid Henry.

The second book in the series yet we found it could easily stand alone without reading the first. Beaky Malone is a fantastic character and his inability to lie sees him getting into some sticky but hilarious situations. It reads like a Tom Gates or Wimpy Kid book without the cartoon/comic book feel. We really enjoyed it
