Look Inside a Hospital
Author: Katie Daynes Illustrator: Stefano Tognetti
Excellent informative book about Hospitals. This book made learning about hospitals really fun for Ivy. She loved opening the flaps and asked lots of questions about the health topics inside of the book. The facts are simple yet detailed enough for children to understand the goings on and terms used in a hospital environment. This will be a really handy book for us as Ivy attends hospital appointments regularly.

The Snail and the Whale
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
A new favourite for us. Such an amazing story with an important message. This book was a great talking point for us to think about the environment and animals and creatures and why they could get in to dangers and how we could help. Ivy loves the snail as he is the hero who saves the day. (Her words)

The Jolly Postman or Other People's Letters
Authors: Allan Ahlberg , Janet Ahlberg
This book is a must have for any child’s book collection. I felt so nostalgic when reading to Ivy as it was one of my favourite stories at her age!. The pull out letters make story telling fun and something Ivy loves doing. Overall this is a really lovely story and lots of fun to read together.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Author: J. K. Rowling
My daughter is obsessed with the Harry Potter film series so I thought we have to start reading the books. My daughters birthday was a great opportunity to buy them for her. We have just finished reading The Philosiphers Stone and we both loved it. reading the books are always better than the movie because you feel like you get to know the characters more and lots of the story is often missed in film versions.  This story is magical and full of adventure as expected and one we don’t want to put down. We are looking forward to moving onto the next book in the series. Ivy has only just turned 6 and found this book super interesting and loved me reading it to her. I think this book makes a fantastic read for children age 6 and up.

The Paper Dolls
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Rebecca Cobb
This book is wonderful from start to finish. The story line is really sweet with a lovely message behind it. I feel it’s a really special read. Both myself and my daughter really enjoyed this story. The illustrations are beautiful too.
