Everyone’s favourite 5-year-old twins, Topsy and Tim, feature in these popular stories that can help your pre-schooler through their first experiences and milestones. Written by husband and wife team, authors Jean and Gareth Adamson, the books were first published in 1960 with the series selling over 21 million copies. The books were modernised and relaunched in 2003, and adapted into a popular television series for CBeebies in 2013.

The live action children’s TV series brought the books to a new generation. The cast included Anna Acton who played Topsy and Tim’s Mum and the 5 year old twins were played by Jocelyn Macnab aged 7 and Joshua Lester aged 8 and who, despite appearances, are not twins themselves. The series was filmed on set including a specially built house, as well as on location for some of Topsy and Tim’s more exciting adventures. The three series have now finished but are still shown on CBeebies and there are even spin offs such as Topsy and Tim games to keep little ones entertained.
